This is not a memorial I promise

“To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.”
—Dr. Seuss

Whenever I see interesting prompts I always make sure I feel that ‘zing’ or is it ‘umph’ in posting something. In other words, if it resonates with me and my lips or in this case my fingers want to be all chatty. Then I have a go at it.

In all the beautiful prompts brought up by the guru of prompts on hive blockchain @galenkp (I'm being all ‘hypey’ I know but it's the truth, see for yourselves an exemplary post ) this resonated with me👉 What would you like to be remembered for?

I know it sounds very much like I'm leaving behind a will or something but no. It's indeed a beautiful thing to reflect on (when my name is mentioned in a place, what comes to mind?), which might set you on the right path in life or reaffirm your path of motion.

Not to sound all ‘advertisy’ and selling myself or my business.
I hope I am remembered for my zeal to impact lives through all I engage in from workouts to teaching or just a simple smile in my hello.
Not to worry, I won't get all ‘teachery’ on you.

Wow! I'm really on fire with creating new words just by adding ‘y’ to it.😅 I promise that is the last one🤞🏽

Now back to my remembrance sorry I meant ‘what I want to be remembered for’.
Just a little story to back up the read in ‘Why?’

Growing up I was always struggling in school. I felt I was dull which had me crying through some things that shouldn't even be a good enough reason to cry over.

From not being able to copy notes on the board quickly before it is whipped clean for a fresh note to be copied - a simple ‘pick up more than a letter before looking down to write’ would have surfaced but my lovely teachers felt I should know. Who would blame them they have a lot on their plates as it is, why bother about a struggling little me?
To being flogged because I didn't know how to read like my peers. If only she knew to just state what she felt was obvious, yet unknown to little me (pronounce every letter and the use of syllables). Thank goodness for my maths teacher who put me through learning to read (unknown to him though) by breaking this word into syllables “MA-THE- MA-TICS” and eureka I picked up. And many other stories like that.

These stories though pathetic groomed me and made me understand that there is nothing really difficult. It is just a simple answer “I don't know it yet.” meaning with just a little nudge (studying and researching) I will gain the knowledge of whatever I desire to learn.

To date, the kids I am opportune to tutor are made to understand just that. There is no Impossibility nor is there any difficulty.

Still trying my best not to sell myself but I have had many wins from then on. Hence, having this mantra changed to “A jack of many trades and a master of all”.

Through my several years of tutoring I have seen many ‘little struggling me’ in the lives of the kids I have encountered and by God's grace changed those narratives. From the primary school I taught at, to the home tutoring experiences I have rendered for more than five years. I wish to do more and aim for it through my baby and project- Resplendent Tutors Enterprise.

One of my biggest wins was expressed by a child that was seen as a sad introvert but was rather struggling as she was unable to read at the age of 8. That changed after some tutoring sessions. That was not it though.
‘It’ happened whilst she was passing by during a function to which I happened to be present. This shy child was all straight-faced and going her merry way in front of a crowd. At sighting me she waved so enthusiastically with the broadest of smiles that melted my heart with tears of great joy. As though saying I'm grateful you exist.
I want to be remembered for just that “Miss Whitney Alexander changed my life for the better”.

Thanks for coming this far.

All pictures are mine taken using my IOS phone.

Smile... laugh often... love more... be happy and grateful always! We are not promised tomorrow
