[Week 117] International weekend in Curacao

My regards to all Hivers who interact in this nice community. Thank you dear @galenkp, for this initiative that inspires to create content for the weekend. This time I select the following topic.

INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND IN CURAZAO

We left from Maiquetia International Airport in Caracas, for Curaçao, here I am with my friend Elizabeth, inside the plane waiting for take off. We asked the flight time and they told us 45 minutes.

On FRIDAY, we arrived at Curaçao International Airport. It was a smooth flight, with delicious snacks and attentive service.

At the airport the lady from whom we rented a small house was waiting for us, she stopped at a supermarket on the road and there we took the following photo to keep as a souvenir of the group.

When we arrived at the little house we rented, the owners told us that they were renting their house to continue building it and to be able to cover all the expenses, the lady was a hairdresser and her husband worked in construction. This urbanization was close to a Sambil shopping Centre that was going to be inaugurated in three days.

On this first day, we decided not to leave because we were tired due to the fact that we got up early to be at the airport four hours before the flight in order to comply with the document and luggage check requirements.

On SATURDAY, we got up, showered, had breakfast and went for a walk to get to know the area, as the owners told us that we were in Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao and we could visit two parts: Punda and Otrobanda, both districts were connected by the Queen Emma Bridge, also known as the Pontones Bridge. They advised us to walk along the bridge so that we could visit restaurants, and shops, and enjoy the scenery and the colorful landscape.

During the walk, the first thing we came across was the cemetery. It was closed, but it looks very nice.

Walking on we find Otrobanda, a place full of shops, restaurants, squares, cafés, ice-cream parlours and many other shops to have fun, enjoy and shop.

In this beautiful place, we went into a restaurant, ate, rested from the walk. Afterwards, we visited a telephone shop to call our relatives and then we continued shopping. We entered this shop because we are fascinated by the perfumes and creams of this brand.

To get to this shop, we had to cross the Pontones bridge, and I took the opportunity to take a photo on this bridge.

I also took a picture with the canyons in the background, I know they are part of the history of this beautiful island.

I tell you that during this photo shoot, we suddenly heard a bugle or bell and everyone started running to get across the bridge quickly because they didn't know when it would be put back up. We followed the crowd, and then we decided to go back home all scared.

On SUNDAY, we decided to go out after three o'clock in the afternoon, to take pictures on the bridge at sunset and dusk.

While we were taking pictures, we were offered a boat ride and it was not very expensive, so we took advantage of it. Here they explained to us that this place is called the Punda commercial pier.

After the boat ride, we continued our walk along the boulevard looking for unoccupied benches in the squares to sit and rest, but they were all occupied. Finally we found this spot, where we sat down, hydrated and rested for a while while taking pictures.

After this well-deserved break, we went for a coffee and to continue browsing shops. In one of the squares, I found this poster and in another square I found the poster on the cover of this post.

It got dark, we snacked on ice cream, had a soft drink and ate a sandwich that we had prepared. Now the photo of the bridge.

After this photo, we went to the Casino to meet him and then back to the little house.

We entered the Casino, but we didn't last long because there was a problem with some tourists who were apparently cheating, when we realised the situation we immediately left the place and walked home. On the way home, some stopped at the ice-cream parlour, others at the coffee shop and a few at the bakery and sweet shop.

Thank you for your visit, I wish you health, success, peace, love, prosperity and that your dreams come true.
