So unlike others... 3 days in medieval Dubrovnik! // #TheLongestTrip

I visited Dubrovnik in July of this year, which I wrote about shortly to keep fresh my emotions and impressions of this fascinating city of Croatia on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, as I called it "so different from others!"

But to write just one post about Dubrovnik is to write nothing! I spent three incredibly euphoric days there! So, I will write three more posts, which will have the title "Three days in Dubrovnik". And I hope that I will be able to convey to you in these posts my unforgettable emotions that this great city, filled with the spirit of the Middle Ages, awakened in me.
Therefore, I return to the story of one of the most beautiful, most mysterious, most unique cities that I saw after I left Turkey in June and went on my trip to Europe.
I first heard about Dubrovnik, the ancient historical city of Croatia, from our friend from Kemer. He enthusiastically said that this is a cool city! And later fate decided that we must fly to Dubrovnik, because the flight from Athens to Dubrovnik was the cheapest!

So, after I settled in a very creative and extraordinary dwelling (I will write in the second post in the "Architecture and design" community), we hurried to our first walk to the sea!
We came to the sea, which was right next to the walls of an ancient fortress that stood in the sea! The first impression is unlike any other city I've seen before! It was a special moment for me: the walls of the old city, which together with the fortress form a bay where people live and swim, there are many colorful canoes parked on the pebbles. People sit on the walls, sunbathe here... and modern life is closely intertwined with antiquity!
From a distance we saw a very cool rock on which the castle stood. We walked along the ledge of the ancient wall directly above the sea... And climbed the stairs that were made in the rock.

From above, there were beautiful views of this unique city, which I also remembered for its terracotta roofs against the background of the mountain, to the top of which goes the funicular.
And below in the sea was a magnificent picture, consisting of rocks illuminated by the sun, an ancient fortress, orange houses, and boats that added colorful touches!
There were several stone islands in the middle, which also made this bay even more unique. And there were people sitting everywhere with their feet dangling in the water and there was such harmony in this evening!

Here I smelled the fascinating smell of southern pines, which have such long needles that when they fall, they cover the ground like hay and you can sit on this soft carpet, enjoying it.
And I sat down on a bench and sat for a long time, admiring the greatness of Dubrovnik from a bird's eye view. And there was a cat nearby who also enjoyed it :)

Later, we walked through narrow cozy streets, between orange roofs, remembering every moment ...
And thus we got to a unique place, between two rocks, where there was a cafe above the sea. This is how I remembered the city of Dubrovnik, which is unlike any other! Where life rages between rocks and ancient fortresses!

Here we spent the evening, and later came here to swim between these two rocks, where the water in the Adriatic Sea has a particularly deep emerald color!
