A stoic approach to life.

If I remember correctly in philosophy classes in high school, the professor told us that Socrates was the first philosopher to say that the soul is something characteristic of man and is the seat of thought and moral values.

Coincidentally, this kind of thinking seems to me very close to the quote by Emperor Marcus Aurelius:

"Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the thoughts."

-Marcus Aurelius-

This emperor is one of the greatest representatives of the philosophical current called stoicism, in which the human being will not be remembered for what he had, but for who he was. We must value what we have without desiring what we cannot have.

A stoic person possesses willpower to control his emotions or feelings. A stoic person stands firm in the face of adversity.

Nowadays many people let their souls get dirty because they are influenced by preconceived ideas or perceive reality in an unfair and altered way, this causes our mind to process thoughts that often are not correct and therefore our behavior in a situation can be unfair and incorrect.

Every day, people have ideas and representations of the reality we are living in our minds. These elements interrelate with each other and from there our thoughts take shape.

That is why it is of utmost importance that what happens in a true or certain way is correctly interpreted through reasoning or our imagination, because our thoughts control our life.

Our mind, in its conscious mode, makes us choose the central thoughts that will govern our life, the beliefs that limit or enhance our concept of ourselves and the world around us.

The soul is our absolute consciousness and we project it through our mind.

Both one and the other are inseparable, they seem different things but they are not, it is like a bracelet, a chain or a gold ring, if we melt them we will not notice the differences because its essence is the same gold.

We must learn to live without complexes, analyzing every idea, every perception, being more empathetic with other people, without preconceived ideas that cloud our judgment and feed our soul with prejudices, unrealities and hatred towards others.

Thank you very much for visiting me, and I hope this brief interpretation is to everyone's liking. Best regards and happy weekend.
