It's the Weekend!

The weather is getting warmer and it is time to bring out the barbeque. We were going for a meat feast and everything was almost perfect except that the fire was not really going. It seemed like forever to wait for the meat to cook.

Joey noticed the coals weren't getting the oxygen they needed. He opened a couple holes at the bottom of the grill and a fire started like none of us expected. The fire was all consuming.

My son who had been waiting for the meat party stood awestruck at a distance. We had to pull that burnt meat off the grill.

Lucky for my son the flames did die down and we were able to cook the reserve meat at a more reasonable pace.

Lesson learned:

The pork fat fuels the fire.

It's better to wait for it than to push it.
