San Diego County Fair 2022

Hello friends!

I'm back for one more fun weekend activity. Today I will bring some pictures of the San Diego County Fair. This is the first time we went to the fair. We've been living here for 5 years now and we've never been there before, so this year I decided that we had to go and check it out. The fair happens every year during the month of June, and it's open everyday from Wednesday to Sunday. We heard on TV to avoid Friday, Saturdays and Sundays as it's very crowded, but these are the best days for us to go. So we decided to go on Friday night. We were prepared for the worse, like a super crowded event, but it wasn't bad at all, and we actually had an amazing time.
The event is extremely well organized, even before you get in. The streets around the fair grounds had a lot of people helping with traffic and organizing the lines for the parking lot. It was just a short wait until we were able to park our car, we even got lucky to get a spot to park not too far to walk to the entrance. There were no lines to get in, and we didn't loose any time as we had bought our tickets in advance.
The fair is huge, a lot bigger then I thought. Lot's of rides and food. I was actually very impressed with the amount of food stands available, with all kinds of (junk) food you can imagine. It makes you want to try a little bit of everything. But the price is not super friendly, as everything is very expensive. It was a lot more expensive then I thought it would be, a sandwich and a drink would be an average of U$20, and one beer U$14. The rides and games were also very expensive in my opinion. If you buy the cheapest package of tickets, the rides would cost U$10/each and the games, some were U$7.50 and some were U$10 each.
We had a lot of fun there, as we had some good junk food, played a few games and got a couple of prizes, and also went on a couple of rides. We spent about 3-4 hours there, and we walked the entire fair. There were also some expositions (livestock, flowers, and local produced goods), that I forgot to take some pics. But you can have a good feel of the fair with the pictures I took. Some were when we arrived still at day light, and some already after sunset.

This is also my entry for the Show Us Your California contest organized by @thesocalhive.

See you next time!!
