Family Getaway.png

Moalboal is one of the most visited places in Southern Cebu, especially the foreign tourist or even locals. Moalboal is known for its sardines run, clear beaches, fine sand, and also it is rich in marine ecosystems. No wonder, a lot of tourists are coming to this place to experience underwater activities as well as the fun that comes with it.

Over the weekend, my family and my relatives planned to drive to Moalboal and stay in the resort, Coral Blue resort, for a whole day. It's a 2-hour drive from the City. We departed early in the morning at six (6) to avoid the city traffic. Since we left so early, we had our breakfast in our favorite restaurant in Dumanjug, Empiang's. They have the best inasal manok bisaya (roasted native chicken).

After which, we continued to drive and bought this fresh delicacy bibingka (rice cake) along the way. It's sweet and soft. It's best when it's hot.

Once we arrived in Moalboal, we stopped by at their Municipal Hall to acquire a tourism pass. This is their requirement before going to a resort because they won't let you in once you don't have this. By the way, you can't get a tourism pass ahead of time, it should be on the day of your visit to the resort. This is another reason too why we left the City so early.

We arrived in Moalboal almost ten (10) in the morning. We were preparing our food and others were changing to their swimwear to get ready to dip in the beach. I already wearing my swimwear and I just paired it with denim shorts and beach cover-ups.

The weather was cooperating. It was so hot and sunny. Perfect for swimming. The place wasn't that crowded too.

These are some of our foods prepared. Some of you might ask what are those food aside from the fish. The green one is lato (sea grapes), kinhason (plicate conch), and swaki (sea urchin). Yup, we eat those especially at the beach and they taste better when paired with vinegar and a little bit of salt.

This was the most awaited part. Eating time. Everybody was excited for the Lechon including me. Lol. I just had the crispy Lechon skin which is my favorite.

After we had our lunch, I had some refreshments, buko juice, and flavored beer. Since it was so sunny, I wanted something cold and we found this vendor who sold us buko juice. And later on, my cousin offered me a bottle of this flavored beer. I couldn't resist it since we barely spend time together such as this so I was cool with it.

Done with my drinks, we had some photography sessions before I dip into the tempting beach. I didn't really spend much on the beach because my skin turns easily to lechon skin and I have an event to attend after a week. I can't risk it though. Lol again.

After everybody is done swimming, we prepared to go home. We left the resort at two-thirty (2:30) in the afternoon. This time, we arrived home late at six (6) at night. We were stuck in the city traffic on our way back. When we arrived home, we went straight to our bed.

What a weekend it was! Everybody was really enjoying the getaway. It's a different kind of fun when you're with your family and relatives. I just hope I won't get sunburn from the photography sessions I had under the scorching hot of the sun. Lool.

Until then Hivers! See you in my next blog.

Ciao.
