Well well, hello to the hivers and to all the internet reading this post! It’s a pleasure to be here once again!!

I have to admit that I read about the #weekend-engagement some minutes ago, because I was exploring The Weekend community, and I wanted to make another post, but… these topics close in a few hours! So I really want to take part.

All of them are great, and with the animals things, I was thinking about a dinosaur as a pet, lol, but no… I’m gonna make my post more realistic, since I have very good songs to pick as a companion (let´s say) in the life journey, or at least in different moments.

And these songs are:

  • Don’t stop me now by Queen, of course
  • American Life by Madonna

The first one is to me like an hymn. I love a lot of songs by Queen, but Don’t stop me now keeps walking with me in every step in my life, and is very chameleonic to me, since it has the skill of adapt to different times.

When I was a teenager that song meant something, then in some particular situation meant another thing, today it means another thing, and so on.

What I like the most about that song, is the energy and the vibes! Since it has a very powerful rhythm.

And here is the song:

And, my favorite part of the song right now is…

I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go, go, go
There's no stopping me

The other song that I picked for this weekend-engagement is American Life by Madonna.

That song marked a before and after in my life, because for that one I realized actually, who was Madonna. I had heard her, but I was 15 years old by that time, and I was not very interested in her music.

But somehow American Life touched my mind, so I started to read about its author, and Madonna became an idol to me.

I started to follow her and to understand her as an unstoppable woman. She is still that musician, and she’s much more than that nowadays.

So American Life was the door for Madonna’s discography, which really helped me mostly when I was a teenager. And today I listen to those songs and feel like… save.

Talking about American Life itself, its message of rebelión and this thing of going kinda against the system, sound pretty much like me.

And this is the video (the one that wasn’t restricted)

My favorite part of that song is:

I'd like to express my extreme point of view
I'm not Christian and I'm not a Jew
I'm just living out the American dream
And I just realized that nothing is what it seems

I love that part because I basically dislike labels… so I feel very identified with this thing that I’m not this, nor that. Same thing with the fact that nothing is like people try to show it… so what I take from that is that you just have to live your life putting on a side what others could say or think about you. You can try everything to fit in, but probably you’ll like to some people and other people is gonna hate you, so… BE FREE by being happy in your own way :D
