A friend has more pears than she can handle, so when she learned I canned, too, she offered me a whole big box of pears. Every day I need to check for ripened ones and decide what to make.
Yesterday's project resulted in pear sauce with a touch of honey. I canned some, then added brown sugar to the rest and cooked it down to pear butter.
Some of the pears I sliced thin and put into my electric dehydrator. Dried fruit makes a great snack.
The pears were a gift. I just added some flavorings, water, and energy.
