After, the incredible collection, Silver Surfers owned by the famous drummer Neil Peart, an another car caught my attention during the next Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance sale hosted by Gooding & Company in California in August. It's this stunning 1977 Porsche 934/5 :
The sport version of the iconic Porsche 911 (my favorite car) with a livery closed to the Martini color scheme (my favorite too) but it's another famous racing team Brumos Racing. Pure beauty...
If you want to see some of the cars sold during RM Sotheby's Amelia Island sale on May 22nd, here's a follow-up :

History of Porsche 934
The Porsche 934 is the racing version of the 911 Sport at the end of the 70's and beginning of 80's. It was introduced for the 1976 season in the FIA Group 4 GT, road-legal race cars. I love the concept. At this time, you can drive your Porsche to the race, participate to the competition and drive it back home again ! But in 1979, it was over. Only 31 examples were built and sold to private racing team.
This example 934/5 is an hybrid between the 934 and 935 models in order to compete in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, competition based in the US and Canada. Only 10 examples 934/5 were produced in 1977. The car was bought by the team Brumos Racing to participate at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1977 with behind the wheel the famous driver Peter Gregg (four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the owner of Brumos). The car finished at the third place.
This car participated in races until the 1983 season. Beautiful beast with a great pedigree.
Specification
The Porsche 934/5 is equipped with turbocharged 3.0 litre flat-six engine mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox producing 485 bhp 7000 rpm. The 934/5 can reach 60 mph (96 kmh) in just 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 286 kmh / 178mph.
This example (chassis 930 770 0951) was recently restored in order to have the exact specifitcation and colors scheme as in the beginning in 1977
Ready to get behind the wheel of this car? Just the price makes me think 😀
