Busy Bee Class – Tutorial 24.3 - Sharping up the Blog!

Source

Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa!

This is another Busy Bees Tutorial post. We have a little Activity Group, which you shall find Here.

The tutorial I have here is for anyone's eyes that wish to learn some things, but specifically, this was written to help support the Redfish Newbies in the Taglist below!

So let's get to the class!

Formatting your post to increase its readibility

Its a great idea to learn the methods of writing and structuring a post correctly, it is also a great idea to learn the formatting conventions that make for an easy post to read.

The heading above is a great example of this. You can make a section a heading like that by adding a "# " before the text. If you are on PC, you can look to the left and right to see the preview of this Formatting. If you are on the Phone App, then you need to hit "Preview" and check it out.

Add more ##, ###, #### will change the size of the heading and allow you to make bug headings and sub headings as you need.

Example of 1x "#"

Example of 2x "#"

Example of 3x "#"

Example of 4x "#"

You can of course use Italics by adding a * before and after a word, Bold by adding two and Bold Italic by adding three.

You can also combine the two formatting conventions to create interesting formatting.

A Large Bold Heading

Smaller heading that is also Italic

Now that we have learned this, we need to know HOW to use it correctly in the right timing. Never mind these formatting conventions when you don't know WHEN to use these things.

It is a good idea to have some sort of introduction or greeting to start the post out. I often accompany this with the cover photo, but not always.

I will now give you an example of formatting using very basic language. Its all conceptual of course, you need to imagine how you will make it work in your own posts.

The subject of the test post is just a silly allegory, enjoy.

Test Post

Your goal with this formatting:

The goal is guide the reader to parts of the post they find most interesting. It also breaks it up and makes it easy to read in little sections.

It also stops you from rambling on with no point since each heading must contain relevant experience.

Overall, it looks good, it reads good and promotes a good interaction and vote support from your readers!

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you found it useful!
