HiveStats says my alt-coin empire is worth $9.76. I rarely earn money on my posts; So, I had only 1.17 HIVE to power up.
For Hive Power Up Day I decided to power up all of my alt-coins on Hive Engine. Many of the Hive-Engine coins are trading at 0.00001 HIVE. So it is easy to buy an impressively large number of coins to power. My image shows me powering up 8000 coins, but doesn't mention the coin is worth less than 0.00001 HIVE.
I powered up my alt coins on Steem Engine this morning. It appears that most of the coins on Steem-Engine failed. I bought a 100,000 alt coins on Steem-Engine for one STEEM.
The coins on Hive Engine are faring better. I had transferred 3 HIVE to HIVE Engine. I bought 8000 coins last month and powered up those coins.
Anyway, I now have 21,500 coins in the HIVE ecosystem. My HIVE empire is theoretically worth 4285 HIVE which translates to $550.00.
I have 100,000 coins in the STEEM ecosystem. They have a value of 408 STEEM or $81.78.

HIVE engine is a great place to practice buying and selling coins. It also adds a nice little premium onto one's earning on the platform. Personally I fear that hive-engine is holding down the price of HIVE. It is likely that the whales are earning several thousand times what normal accounts earn on HIVE engine. Whales dumping alt-coins would drag down the price of the ecosystem.
