Canada post issued 7 different centennial stamps to commemorate our 100th birthday. Yes, Canada is not as old as the USA! The $1 stamp featured here represents the Alberta oil fields or sands. If you have not heard, Alberta has always been somewhat famous for its rich deposits. In most provinces we have typically 2 taxes: The GST and PST. Alberta with its additional oil revenue, needs only to have the GST tax. Who wouldn’t want to live in Alberta? The 50 cent stamp represents any prairie town grain elevators. The Canadian prairies of course are well known sources of wheat and barley production. The 25 cent stamp represents a ”wilderness landscape”, similar to British Columbia.
