The Great British Coin Hunt Quintessentially British A to Z

The next stop on our journey is a day by the coast, With Ice Cream for everyone and sunshine for most.
Who doesn’t love ice cream? From children to grownups, it’s our nation’s favourite treat. Not only are there endless flavours to choose from, but they now come in all different shapes and sizes.
Ice cream recipes first appeared in England in the 18th century. The recipe for ice cream was published in Mrs. Mary Eales's Receipts in London in 1718.
According to research by Neuroscientists at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, eating ice cream really does make you happy. Scientists found that a spoonful of the cold stuff lights up the same pleasure centre in the brain as winning money or listening to your favourite music.

When I think of ice cream..... I think of Italian gelatos, not a British staple! So to say this is quintessentially British is a bit of a shot in the dark. Couldn't the RM think of anything British starting with the letter "I"??

Finally bursting out of the bottom side of the Scarcity chart, the letter I climbs one spot to sit at a desirability of 2/100!! Not exactly a coin to die for, but we are definitely headed in the right direction.

Similar to all the coins mentioned so far, the 2018 version has a mintage figure of 220,000. This is reflected in its price:

The 2019 version has a much lower mintage, but falls in line with the other coins of this year. With just 84,000 coins minted, it does fetch a little more than the previous year:

What ever the second hand market price, having picked up several hundred at face-value (£0.10), through the Royal mints "coin swap" offer, I definitely won't be out of pocket when I come to selling them on.
