I can imagine the gaming turning out to be a disaster and meet its demise very soon after its creation. It is HIVE blockchain that made a difference and allowed @risingstargame to prosper. There are other blockchains with similar features. WAX has gaming as a focus and it was started by a team that was already experienced in marketplaces for video game assets. EOS created by @dan and Telos which started out as a fork of EOS has faster block times and Koinos created by the largest contributors to the STEEM codebase are amazing projects. They have features HIVE does not. Among all of them, I consider Koinos to be the project with the best technology.
None of them have the community HIVE does. Layer 0 is the biggest strength we have as a blockchain. After a user install Keychain, there are many DAPPs they can explore and then talk about those DAPPs or anything else they have in their mind on decentralized social media. This is a superpower no other blockchain posses. I like Blurt, but there are only social media front ends to the project. I'm happy to see more platforms that support freedom of speech. I am even happier to have the same + other DAPPs such as games on the same blockchain.
Almost at 1 Million STARBITS Again
I am close to be back at completing STARBITS Millionaire Missions. I should be able to collect 26,606 STARBITS in a matter of days. The price of STARBITS has fallen dramatically over the 3 years I have spent with the game. I could easily buy the remainder by selling $HIVE. I prefer the gameplay route when I can help it.
About Record Staking
Record Staking is the best thing you could do with your idle STARBITS IMHO. It is possible to earn through a Liquidity Pool. That requires paring with another Token and facing impermanent loss. I have a preference towards single asset staking.
With this unstaking, reaching 1 Million STARBITS in wallet should not take long. I will have to get enough Fans to meet the minimum requirements. I don't expect it to be too difficult (at least for some time).
Card Market Has Improved
It is possible to purchase multiple Cards at once. Features like this is very important for large investors who aim to make multiple purchases at quick secession. The previous system was cumbersome and I happy to see this long overdue change. We are going to need more of these quality of life features to bring masses into blockchain gaming.
Onboarding is Not Enough
Chibi Dinos has 76.3K Followers on Twitter and they even partnered with Genesis League Sports. There is no real Twitter activity for over a month and this is coming from a popular project that had a good level of activity while we have entered a new bull market. I have not looked deep into what happened. Similar trends have seen among many other projects. Even Axie Infinity which used to be the biggest name in blockchain gaming is having a small fraction of the Daily Active User it had in its peak.
@risingstargame has managed quite well in comparison. Community on HIVE may have something to do with it. Feeless transactions are extremely important for both gaming and social media projects. There are many other great blockchains that offer the same or a better experience. Our USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is the amazing community that is constantly exploring and trying out new things.
What Most Investors Are Looking At
Most of the projects mentioned above are very different from the games built on HIVE. We have not made ourselves known well within the cryptosphere because we are already too busy on a better social media. There have been many projects that eclipsed HIVE for a brief moment in time only to fall back.
Above is the @coingecko SocialFi ranking based on marketcap. I remember how Tokens like DESO were ranked far above $HIVE only to fall back. I don't think this trend will last forever. HIVE must take care of its onboarding. Games like Rising Star can be the ones to play a part in retaining those new users. One DAPP cannot do much. Many DAPPs adding variety and features can go a long way to increase the strength of the ecosystem that has been built on HIVE.
