Baumite, a heaven for investors and the place to be for tourism!
That's likely how a bad PR office would try attract people to come on this planet. Sigh, what the hell are we doing here?
In case you are lost, let's stop here to give you some explanations: Baumite is a planet in eXode, the Hive game developed by @elindos. eXode is a space colonization card game, in which you build a deck composed of an Origin (similar to a Faction), a Ship, your crew, your passengers, and your cargo. In eXode, after managing to escape a space station attacked by unknown aliens, you will be reaching a new galaxy, from there manage to land on a planet and start colonizing it (note: colonization phase is not yet included but is expected soon).

Everything started on this station, Ivski, on which we docked for refill and repairs. It should have been a nice and short break during our travel, but the station suddenly noticed our Captain they were under attack from an unidentified alien fleet. As expected, the station quickly became a mess: civilians running everywhere, our Captain struggling to reach some crew member who were enjoying themselves, people fighting to get access to useful stuff...
Except for Stug, most of us are just scientific without much battle experience, it's not surprising two crew members almost got killed when looking for our missing crews. In the hope to avoid casualties, we quickly repaired our Hyperdrive, filled the tank, and activated your warp drive to fly away.
Currently, the game is in alpha, and only two gameplay parts are available: the Evacuation (leaving the space station) and the Scanning (scanning and reaching the planet) phases. Evacuation phase consists in evacuating the space station. You will have to repair your Hyperdrive and to refill your fuel before being able to leave the station. If you have enough firepower, you could also try to get some new passengers and some cargo, but this can quickly become deadly without a well equipped crew.
How long did it take? I'm not sure, the distortion induced by the veilspace on my body was painful, I wish the painkiller was a bit more efficient. It may be the third time I did a warp, I can't get use to them. When we came back to our senses, the pilot noticed us we were in an unknown sector, in an unknown galaxy... That's crazy! I mean, 4 hours ago I was taking my breakfast on this shitty station, and suddenly I had to run to ship, try to avoid two crazy guys shooting on everything moving, load tons of fuel in the tank, and then, suddenly, here, Tyron just say: "We are in a new galaxy". Dude! ... Wow! What a day!
It would have be nice if every thing went fine from their, but no, the aliens were tracking us, and we had no choice but to try to reach the closest planet. Everyone started to use the scanners to try to understand where we were going to, where we could land. While Tyron, our Pilot, was trying to make us look like an asteroid.
Scanning is the second step in eXode, right after evacuating, your ship arrive in a new galaxy with a planet in proximity. You need to select a Pilot from your crew, and chose a Flying technique, your Pilot will fly your ship toward the planet and will make some skill checks periodically to avoid being detected or to avoid an incoming missile. In the mean time, the rest of your crew can scan the planet with our ship's modules. Different type of scans are possible, bringing different type of information.
For the Pilot selection currently Tyron and Oksana are among the best one, both are Epic cards so you need some luck to get them (or buy them on the market). Less competent pilots are less rare and will also be able to do the job!
Oksana was the first to give a meaningful report, I can still hear her words: Baumite, a heaven for investors and the place to be for tourism! There was despair in her voice, things were going to be taff, very taff...
Following this discovery, Tyron tried to land with an extremely dangerous technique: he make the ship warps toward the surface of the planet! I don't know if he was just trying to kill himself, and us together, or if he was just very confident in his skills, but in the end, it works. Now, we are here, on this new world, Baumite.
At the end of the scanning phase, if you managed to reach the planet and were not killed by the aliens, you will be able to land on the planet you just discovered. From then, you will have to wait, as the next phase, the colonization phase is not yet available. However, you will receive the planet you just land on as a NFT! This NFT will become a permanent asset at the end of the alpha, giving you bonus depending on what you achieved on the planet (note: you can only have one planet NFT during the alpha).
The planet consists in about 2000 parameters, most of them hidden, and to be discovered. However, currently, for testing purpose, we can access in some of these parameters.
So, how is the planet? Well, if we look at the bright side, not that there is any light here, landing was quite easy. From the orbit, we located two landing site, both being quite easy to access. Except this, the future is quite dark... I mean, literally, the light of the star is so dim it's impossible to see outside without our vehicles lights, there are no day, just a continuous night.
The planet is quite vast, and cold, freaking cold! It seems all the wildlife is dangerous here: no herbivore, only predators and scavengers. Do you realize? There are even Tall Brown Abemas! Tall! When you know what small ones can do... Well, yeah, I have no idea too, but the Xeno-analyst was really terrified when she understood what species it was. It must be quite dangerous, it should, if it survived on this hellish planet!
For the rest, there are a bunch of mineral resources, they could be useful, and could bring some profits for the colony. As soon as we will be able to contact the other survivors, let's sell these to get a place in a better planet! Hum, I mean, to improve the comfort of the colony of course...
I am quite concerned about the Doc, he is spreading rumors about me, saying I am talking to myself or something like that. Crazy no? I mean, I am talking to you. Oups, the Captain is calling me, I hope he didn't listen what I was saying. Need to go...

As explained earlier, currently the game is in Alpha, if you join now and manage to land on a planet, you will get this planet as a permanent NFT at the end of the Alpha. In the future, some economics will be implemented in the game, allowing to exchange some colony assets (different than your cards) between players. The permanent planet NFT is expected to give some bonus on this part of the game. Now is the good time to join us!
Conditions on Baumite are quite terrible, and if you are worrying this would happen for you, don't worry, you can always try to get a new planet by restarting Evacuation!

As I already said in a @Liotes post, I originally start in crypto with Dogecoin 7 years ago, but lost interest, and came back early this year in the crypto world, discovering Ethereum and Hive. I hope we will get along!
