In just under a week, the next Hive Power Up Day (aka #HIvePUD) will be here! In fact, the @hivebuzz countdown timer started ticking down the days. Be sure to check it out on the HiveBuzz site (under the "Challenges" tab)so you don't miss your chance to earn a badge while you power up and build your Hive account!
And the reason I did the whole, 🚨UPDATED🚨 thing is, as I've been saying in recent Power Up Day posts, I'm changing things up again a little, thanks in part to some awesome feedback I've received over the past twelve months. One of the bigger changes begins with this post - I'm chopping out all my usual Power Up Day info (other than the basics and the prizes) and it will all go into one FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) post that I will refer to from here on out. Announcements
- The payout from this post (aka the beneficiaries) is split equally between the three winners from July's HivePUD, so @bartolomee, @puza, and @dibblers.dabs (since @podping / @brianoflondon was kind enough to defer the prizes from his 2nd place power up) will each get 33%.
- The payout for the next post ("Welcome to HivePUD" on the 1st) will go to the top 3 winners of @victoriabsb's Hispanic #HPUD initiative (also 33% each).
- The payout for the Unofficial Winners post on the 3rd or 4th will go to... still thinking about that. It's a tie between the 4th & 5th place winners of both #HivePUD & #HPUD at 25% each, or 100% to @hive.fund (aka the DHF/Decentralized Hive Fund). Please shout out if you have other suggestions!

What is HivePUD?
Hive Power Up Day happens on the first of every month. Those who are able to, take this time to power up some Hive, and/or cancel their power downs and pause trading/selling for the 24 hour span of the day.
How to qualify for HivePUD prizes
- Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70.
- Your total Hive Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.
- You must power up at least 10 Hive on August 1st.
- You must write a post about your power up on August 1st (your local time) with the tag #HivePUD (International) or #HPUD (Spanish).
To be included in the winners list, you must meet all four requirements above. The order of the list (first place, second place, and so on) will be determined by the biggest PERCENTAGE of Hive powered up, not necessarily the most Hive powered up.
How to get HiveBuzz badges

- Power up a minimum of 10 HIVE during the UTC time for the first of the month. Convert your local time to UTC or check the countdown timer on the Hive Buzz site (under the "Challenges" tab) to confirm it's during the first UTC time before you power up.
