Marketing: Desperately seeking funding

I normally don't do announcements of this kind, but I can also make exceptions when required.

This chain has five years of history behind it with a lot of growth in that time, but one thing that has always been missing is, marketing. Pretty much any proposal that has been suggested ahs failed to get support behind it. Perhaps this time it will be different, when there would be a professional marketing team doing the work, with the funding coming from the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF)

The proposal has been organized by @lordbutterfly who has also done the background work and it looks good and the price is reasonable.

At the moment, all of the funded approvals in the DHF are for development of applications and for the blockchain infrastructure, which is great, but with an expected bullrun on Hive, getting a professional marketing campaign going would be highly valuable for a couple reasons that I see.

Firstly, the marketing team would be able to focus on the more marketable aspects of Hive and applications that are likely to attract attention, for example I think Haveyoubeenhere, Dapplr and most definitely, www.nftshowroom.com could benefit heavily from being pushed out, especially if a few mainstream media influencers start to use and push them.

While there have been great initiatives pushed out by many users in the past, a more focused and concentrated marketing campaign creates professional collateral that can be leveraged by the active community, aligning efforts and using the community to widen their acquisition funnels. This is especially important and useful as Ignite Visibility would generate very little inward facing content, it would all be looking out.

On top of this, they would also be gathering data on throughout the campaign that can be used to better target in the future to, where the decentralized community can piggy back efforts to create a stream of communication that pours into the net, hooking potential users and drawing them back in an increasingly widening net.

These are a few points, but there are plenty of opportunities to create harmonies and connect Hive to the greater world at a time where the world is turning its eyes toward blockchain, crypto and what it can offer. Hive hits many of the points that other chains do, except Hive is able to support many aspects as it is a general use blockchain that can deliver all kinds of content and support all kinds of tokenization.

I would suspect that some of the plans that the marketing team would create would be empowered even further by members of the community who will be able to give both content support and create initiatives to drive more growth. Essentially, Ignite Visibility wouldn't be alone in building their channels, as they have a highly motivated and incentivized community of stakeholders already willing to help them spread Hive messaging, allowing them to hit the ground running and having collateral to use through a range of their pre-existing gateways too.

While an individual marketing campaign isn't likely enough, it can be enough to ignite and unite community efforts that run in parallel and well past the end of the campaign. Every HIVE holder has the incentive to increase the visibility, usage and investment into the Hive ecosystem and the power of a decentralized community is that this can be accomplished in many ways simultaneously. One of these ways should be using the HDF to fund value-adding activity as well as development.

There are no guarantees any marketing campaign will work, but there is very little cost in this to give it a try and it is a highly justifiable usage of the development fund in two ways. Firstly, the campaign could attract many new users to the blockchain, but on top of that, it gives external use case for the fund itself, which should attract more developers, as well as all kinds of businesses looking to build. I think this is an opportunity too good to pass up without trying, and I hope others will get behind it too.

To get funded requires large stakeholders to see the merit and I hope this attracts some attention so we can give it a go. If it works even half as well as it could, we will all benefit a lot.
