Greetings fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hive and surrounding communities! It's the *weekend!* That's cause for celebration for many Hoomans who don't have to work; around here it's cause to celebrate *Caturday,* my favorite day of the week... and a reason for everyone to get out and share their favorite cat and kitten photos! ![CC0101-OnWhiteBlanket.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/curatorcat/EoiUDPGwz849Fkdci4ahJbBrZeGZChjdsN9BeXpcjjiaug5cknX12TerhPHu23ZG2LU.jpg) *Contemplating my life...* ## *Our Dog is Getting Old...* Our dog, Daisy, is starting to show her age and she has become what you might call a *"senior citizen dog."* Now you might wonder how that affects lil' ol' me, but it *does,* in the sense that when I try to play with her it just *annoys* her now, where we *used to* occasionally romp up and down the hallway.

Meeting Daisy for the first time, as a tiny kitten!

She's about four times my size, but that doesn't make much of a difference... and she has always been a really good *"kitty nana;"* being *"motherly"* to four different cats that have lived in this house. However, she's getting a little bit too old to be enthusiastic about my ongoing shenanigans. Anyway, because I am still pretty young and energetic, the Hoomans are once again talking about adding one or two *kittens* to the household! It would also mean that there would still be other fur friends here when Daisy *does* cross the Rainbow Bridge, one of these days... It would be pretty awesome to have some more energetic kitty playmates, but on the other hand... I have become very fond of being *"only cat"* in the house. Regardless, I don't think anything will happen until after the new year, but you never know! Junior *"Curator Cats?"* ## *OUT of Cat Food?* Meanwhile, the Dad-Hooman has been saying the the local stores seem to have less and less canned cat food to choose from... with many empty shelves. *Wh..haaattt???* That's an unacceptable travesty! ![CC0101-FoodDish.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/curatorcat/23zGaZTiLFwJxJzWaKwaTGsfUBwxgiKpZbm2DMaY1awbwCDoz5RJ4GE9oZs3ouzk8csAV.jpg) *There will be NO running out of cat food! You hear? Just NO!* Fact, though: due to various disruptions caused by the ongoing Covid situation, some pet food companies have been struggling to keep up with demands... which have been *higher* because a lot more people — facing more time alone at home — have adopted pets during the pandemic. Most likely, we'll just end up mail ordering canned cat food... ## *Other Random Cat Thoughts...* Both the Hoomans and I are happy to see that Hive is holding on to most of the recent price rise in our native token!

We are all part of this gig as a very *long term* proposition... there's nothing we'd like to see more than Hive and its many communities become as much of an online *"fixture"* as a Facebook, eBay, twitter or other venues that have been going since the mid-1990's. And there seems very little reason why that can't happen, as long as we all just stay busy and keep contributing! Still working on trying to bring more life to the **[Hive Cats Community](https://peakd.com/c/hive-189742/created)**, with the weekly *"Caturday Compendium"* and generally just spreading the word. We are inching closer and closer to 100 subscribers! Now we just need more people to *stay active* and post to the community. The community account doesn't *(yet!)* have a lot of Hive Power, but working to build that, as well, so we can start giving more consequential upvotes to worthy content published in the community. Thanks to the lovely subscribers to *my own* blog I'm slowly building enough stake to help boost the community account! And that's about all I have for today!
