96% of Americans Fail to Comprehend Basic Crypto Knowledge - 2021 Crypto Literacy Report

Citing a survey conducted by cryptoliteracy.org, Jamie Redman reports in bitcoin.com that 96% of Americans, 99% of people from Mexico and Brazil Fail to Comprehend Basic Crypto Knowledge.

Highlights:

The survey asked about 1000 people who are aware of crypto 17 questions pertaining to cryptocurrency, bitcoin, decentralized finance (defi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and general sentiment.

17% in the U.S., 15% in Brazil, and 14% in Mexico own the crypto asset.

Only 33% of the respondents thought that purchasing crypto assets was easy today.

The respondents believed that crypto is failing its mission of financial inclusion and ownership tend to point to wealthy and highly educated users.

25% of Brazilians and one-third of Mexican respondents would use crypto to pay for goods and services. Just 13% of American respondents advised they would use it as a method of payment, they would rather use it as a form of investment.
