If you check around, you will discover that most of these things like foodstuffs are sold but they are somehow expensive. I will use myself as a typical example if this scenario,my Landlady sells things like tomatoes,scotch bonnet and onions but because of the proximity we found things expensive. Meaning you will pay more for less quantity of these things. So that is why most people don't mind to cover distance to get these things, myself and my neighbor. At least even if they are paying more, the money should worth it.
