Splinterlands Staking - Another Investment Opportunity

I know your feeds have probably been saturated with Splinterlands content over the last few days, but can you blame us?

Today was the launch of staking on Splinterlands and the APR is sitting around a juicy 514% right now. Of course that number will continue to diminish, but as we saw with Cub Finance, those who get invested early may reap some huge returns in the short term (as well as the long term as even a diminished return is still massive with these things).

I can't recommend the game highly enough. It takes me back to the days where I would spend hours a day playing pokemon on a game boy and grinding to get my team leveled up. This is a remarkably similar concept, except with Splinterlands there is the added incentive of making boatloads of money accomplishing that objective.

I am not by any means a big fish in the Splinterlands community, in fact I am probably around the exact average for account size and time-investment battling on the cusp of the gold division with rentals and silver I with my team alone.

The reason that this game should be drawing your attention even if you don't really want to play it is the opportunity for speculative investment. Take a sad story from me as an example of the explosive growth potential of this game:

Around a week ago, I sold a card called Kron the Undying for around $55. Seeing that I bought it around $20 this was a crazy rate of return for a character in a video game! Or so I thought... Here is the market right now:

The cheapest level one Kron right now is listed for $188... A bit higher than the $50 mark I sold it for.

Rather than being bummed out about this, I have been stacking some other cards that I find to be useful for gameplay and am going to sell them for profits, rinse and repeat. I think that even if you don't plan on battling (which I don't recommend), you can spend your time flipping cards in the ever-growing market and see insane 400%+ rates of return on those investments. These NFT's actually do something so it isn't like buying a million dollar JPG.

Of course I may be wrong and the market may be very inflated right now, but I am going to stick to my gut and stack cards to flip later on. Not financial advice!
