Hive Front Ends - @ecency @peakd or @hive.blog

Which #hive front end you use on a daily basis?

I am not sure why but I have never used Hive.blog since the day I joined hive. I registered my account using @peakd I think. And, that was my primary front end all these years. I knew about ecency but there was this odd familiarity with PeakD that I could not break the bond.

PeakD

There are so many positives that I can list when it comes to PeakD. The best tool for me on Peakd was the analytics page. I am a big fan of data visualization and analytics. The PeakD analytics is my favorite part and I always rely on the numbers to measure progress and dissect my daily behavior.

With @Peakd, the number of things that you can do using the application is unheard of. Be it witness setting, creating and organizing samples or writing a blogpost, the application is robust enough to handle almost everything. The Hive Engine page and the integration of HE token is really helpful for newbies without much knowledge on how they work. This Hive front end is a complete package for any Hive users.

Then came #threads

@leofinance recently introduced #threads- a microblogging platform that is not a separate front end yet but enjoys freedom within Leofinance website. The idea is to allow users to send Twitter-like threads with character limitation. I have been enjoying this service for more than a month.

You all are welcome to join the fun. The team is coming up with a new User Interface to promote micro-blogging on Hive.

I realized the importance of an efficient notification system while playing with #threads

Microblogging is all about having fun and enjoying quick conversations. Users would not come back in a day and still enjoy the stale conversation. I am not saying coming back after a day to join a conversation is not right but it is not as much fun. To enjoy the #thread conversations, I needed a notification system that is quick, responsive and efficient.

That’s where @ecency came in

Ecency

Ecency has one of the best notification systems on Hive. They have their native mobile app and it doubles the fun. I am receiving almost live notifications on my #threads so that I can respond right away. The app gives you the ability to like and reply right from the notification prompt and that’s a game changer.

I was introduced to the mobile app first and they went to check on their website. It is actually good. I am not comparing peakd and ecency and saying one is not good. It is good to see two equally good Hive front ends that enhance your experience. Both these platforms are not as sleek as other web2 social media platforms but they do what they are supposed to do.

I am tilted towards @ecency over @peakd just because of their robust notification system and the mobile app.

What do the good people on Hive have to say? Which front end do you prefer and why? How big a factor is a proper notification system for you?
