We are entering the era of cryptoeconomics, but to understand it, it is essential to first understand what bitcoin is, since it is the first cryptocurrency to appear and the one that provided the technological support —the blockchain— that will radically transform things. For this reason, with these words what I intend is, first of all, to offer a conceptual approach to bitcoin, its history and all its derivatives, to end up immersing ourselves in the field of technological innovation with the blockchain, and how this technology is already transforming the financial world, and how it may disrupt the economy in the future.
The idea for the book arose from a talk I gave, at the invitation of Julio Alonso —the founder and CEO of Weblogs— at the event of his Xataka publication in Madrid in December 2017, he made a video of it on YouTube —https:/ / www.xataka.com/criptomonedas/bitcoin-blockchain-ycriptomonedas-explained-in-a-simple-and-video-forma-had more than 45,000 visits and in general very positive comments from many people who thought that all this was explained new world in a simple and accessible way. That made me see the need to bring these issues closer to an audience that is not necessarily technical or financial.
In a way, I admit that I myself did not fully understand until very recently why all this was talked about as something so revolutionary. I had been paying attention to these issues since 2015, but it was not until early 2017, with the growth of another issue closely related to cryptoeconomics such as ICOs — Initial Coin Offering, a revolutionary new way of financing start-ups.
