As most Monster Maniacs know Splinterlands game asset holders are currently getting airdroped SPS tokens. SPS is a newly minted token that will be used for governance of the Splinterlands game itself. Those holding SPS will have a chance to help set the direction Splinterlands is headed.
The Airdrop itself is not a typical one. This isn't a one and done type deal. The SPS airdrop lasts for a total of 365 days. Currently we are on day 55/365 so as you see there is still plenty of time to get yourself some Splinterlands assets and earn some FREE SPS tokens. Below is a list of Splinterlands assets that currently qualify. Hold one or more of the below and you will be included in the airdrop.
SPS can also be purchased on exchanges such as Hive-Engine. The Current (9/20/2021) SPS USD trade value is about $0.23. Which is about a 20% drop from the last 24 hours high. The drop is nothing to worry about as the price has been fluctuating from $0.22 - $0.30+ for some time.
Once you get your hands on some SPS you might want to head on over to the official Splinterlands site to stake them. Doing so will give you a nice yearly APR return that is currently at 105%. This APR rate drops as more SPS gets staked. Less then two weeks ago the APR was 130% so this week might be the last week in which we see 100%+ APR for staking our SPS. The good news is if enough holders of SPS unstake the APR will increase.
