Newbie Guide To Joining Curation Trail

It feels good when you introduce some people into the Hive community and they take it seriously, it’s brings the joy of motherhood but in my case fatherhood. I feel like a proud father when they come guidance or come with some intelligent question on how Hive and it’s community work. I also love it when they make some certain observations and become curious. Their willingness to participate in most activities on Hive is great, it shows that they believe in the platform.

When I introduce any Newbie into Hive i always advise them to use @ecency when ever they want to check their notifications, because I feel it gives better social media experience and it’s user friendly compare to the rest front end, the rest front ends are good also but I feel it’s a lot more complex for newbies compared to ecency. There is a part in @ecency where you can check your notifications and see people’s latest activities with your account or posts, it could be likes, comment, reblog, received money from someone or mentions. But unlike @peakd and the hive.blog front end that shows you the value of the upvotes upvoted by each user, @ecency doesn’t show you, it just shows you the amount of voting power used by each individual. @leofinance doesn’t show you like these front ends, you can only click on the upvotes to see those who upvoted your post and the value in leo.

One of the newbies noticed that in a second she gets 30 upvotes all at once when she checks her notification on @ecency and she called me to ask how? She asked, how can 30 people read and upvote her post at once at the same time, I told her they joined a curator’s curation trail.

What Is Curation Trail
A curation trail is the act of curating along a particular curator, your curation is based on what this particular curator curates. So we can call it following the curating path of a curator automatically. This is done automatically using Hive.vote.

It works this way, when you log in to Hive.vote and search for any active curator and follow their curation trail, your account automatically upvotes whatever they upvote.

Why Should I Join A Curation Trail
It’s actually your choice if you want to, if you are a busy person and can’t keep up with upvoting, you can join an active curator. If you also can’t keep up voting in different tribes, you can also join a curation trail. If you love a particular community and you will like to support the curating in that community, like during a contest, then you can join.

How Do I Join A Curation Trail
To join a curation trail, you need to first of all find a very good active curator. I can suggest active curator you can use. We have @leo.voter, we have @onealfa , @onealfa.leo and @onealfa.pob, we have @taskmaster4450 @hodlcommunity and @neoxian, but if you are not satisfied with these, you can go to the popular curation trail section on Hive.vote.

After you have chosen which active curator you want to use, go to Hive.vote.
