En la comunidad de usuarios de la plataforma de HIVE, se planteó la propuesta de hacer Power Up el primero de cada mes, con el propósito de estimular el “power up” y así aumentar el poder de voto del usuario y las recompensas que eso conlleva . Esto es lo que en otras cadenas basadas en “prueba de participación delegada” (delagated proof of stake en inglés, para más detalles de este protocolo pueden leer aquí ) se llama staking, es decir retirar de circulación (temporalmente) tokens, y así fortalecer la robustez de la plataforma y reducir la volatilidad de la moneda, lo cual forma parte intrínseca de la “política monetaria” de la correspondiente blockchain, en este caso particular de HIVE .
In the Hive users community there is an initiative of doing “Power UP” the first day of the month, and it is called Hive Power Up Day. With the purpose of incentivizing the “power up” and in this way increase the vote weight and all the benefits that this process gives to the user. The power up is what in other blockchains of delegated proof of stake is called staking, for more details of this protocol see here. With the power up the tokens are locked (temporally) in the platform in order to make it more robust and the coin more stable, i.e. less volatility. By design this forms part of the “monetary policy” of the hive blockchain.

En mi caso es la primera vez que me sumo a esta propuesta y estoy haciendo Power UP de 60 Hives, como pueden ver en las imágenes donde se constata la correspondiente transacción en la cadena de bloques que confirma el vesting de los 60 Hives (así es como se llama técnicamente el proceso de convertir los Hives en Hive Power or HP).
In my case, this is the first time that a participate in the Power UP Day. In this occasion I am powering up 60 Hives, as it can be seen in the images and the confirmation of the transaction (in the blockchain explorer) of vesting the 60 Hives. "Vesting" is the technical name of converting the Hives into Hive-Power (HP)
Como pueden ver todavía me encuentro en la categoría de minnow y pronto espero llegar el estado de delfín, para eso se requiere alcanzar los 5000 HP.
As you can see currently I am a “minnow” but I am close to reach the status of “dolphin” (that means to have 5000 HP)
