I burn, you burn, we all burn. Feel the heat? That's right, we're all burning up! Welcome to the 30-day-long Splinterlands burning event, folks. If you're out of the loop, we're celebrating our 5th year of gaming glory, trading epic NFTs, and climbing ranks with a massive burn event. We're torching DEC, our in-game 'stable' currency (though it's more like a wild roller coaster , but we'll get to that).

It's mind-blowing to see how our community rallies together to fuel the game's growth. The event's participation is through the roof, and millions of DEC have already gone up in smoke, and it's only day two! this is bullish AF! And Iā€™m so proud to be a part of the Splinterlands community.

Am I joining the bonfire? Hell yeah! Even as a small player, I'm throwing my DEC into the flames. Here's a screenshot of my latest burn report. I'm in it for the long haul, folks.

We're only two days in, and already 287 million DEC has been burnt to a crisp! Plus, 149 million DEC-B has been torched, bringing the total value of burns to a whopping $300k (rough estimate, don't quote me on that). But we're not just burning for the hell of it. Splinterlands has cleverly set up a system where participants get value back from the burn. Genius, right?

For every DEC you burn, you earn points that can score you some sweet prizes from the Splinterlands treasury. Plus, it helps your Guild members level up their Guild buildings. So far, I've torched 1k DEC and bagged 2931 points. And I'm not stopping there.

The leaderboard is on fire, too. Last I checked, Yabapmatt had burnt around a whopping 20 million DEC, putting him in 3rd place. It's awesome to see a leader putting his DEC where his mouth is. And of course, the DEC price is feeling the heat. Check this out.

See that? That's the power of a burn event, and we're just getting started! The best part? The price of DEC is capped at 1000:$1. So if the burn pushes the price above the peg, all that extra value goes into burning SPS as well.

This could be a game-changer for the value of SPS. If the price of SPS pumps, battle winnings become more valuable. More valuable winnings mean players will want to beef up their deck by buying or renting cards. We might even see the price of cards go up. The days of cheap cards could be numbered. Plus, being a Validator becomes more lucrative, as Validators also earn SPS which helps decentralize the game and makes it better for everyone.

I'm super bullish on the future of Splinterlands. This burn event is a stroke of genius. I burn, you burn, We're all burning for the greatness ahead and the future success of this ecosystem! Bring on the fire šŸ”„!
