This weekend was the Melton Dandyia 2022 event which saw a beautiful display of Sari dresses and traditional dance in the Cobblebank Stadium. We attended the event and my partner and some of her colleagues contributed to the development and support of the event and were presented with some pretty awesome thank you gifts.

My partner didn't know at the time as it was inside an envelope but the envelope felt quite heavy and it wasn't until she got home that she had learned what it was she had been gifted.

A pretty impressive piece of silver from a new and emerging jewelry trader Easy Buying Australia which specializes in reviving traditional and ethnic lifestyle with a modern touch. I wasn't able to find their website but I did find them on Facebook

So as you can see from the above image their silver work is pretty good and the detail is awesome! They are focusing on the sub continent and producing items for specific cultural needs I think that is pretty impressive.

The piece of Silver my wife has been gifted is 999 fine silver and came in a nice little package and it is quite the gesture I mean you have to like someone enough to give away a precious metal. It is one of the things people have been doing for years in their customs and traditions the trading of precious metals and as a sign of respect.

An in India it is common to give silver as a gift during festive occasions and celebrations. That seems like a really good tradition to have! Imagine if I was gifted silver for my birthdays over the past few years, It would have appreciated quite well.

So how much was gifted?

I jammed it on the kitchen scales to see what it came in as and it was 12 grams of pure silver which is currently valued at $US7.32 or just under $AUD12 which is quite the thoughtful gift and very well appreciated. I can't say I have ever had anyone gift me silver before and nor my partner other than the items she makes me buy her lol.

Is the giving of precious metals common where you are and have you ever received a precious metal as a gift?
