Due to the lack of payment in rubles, Russia is halting all natural gas deliveries to Poland. Poland has stated that they are ready to be independent from Russian gas because they have 76% of their warehouses full.
Poland imports 55% of its natural gas from Russia.
Russia did say that "unfriendly countries" will have to settle the natural gas transactions in rubles. The markets reacted immediately on the news. European gas prices jumped 17% higher.
