What's Better Than Earning 20% on HBD Savings? Doing That While Also Earning LP Rewards on SWAP.HBD at Tribaldex (and BeeSwap).

Hive-Based Dollar (HBD) in 2022Q1
During early days of 2022, the APR for HBD kept in Savings was raised to 12%. This was a big deal, especially since the APR for a Savings account at a traditional bank is literally trivial or nonexistent. For people who had HBD, putting it in Savings was the thing to do.
Just days ago, in early April, the Witnesses reached consensus on raising the APR for HBD kept in Savings from 12% to 20%. If a 12% APR on HBD in Savings was a big deal, then what's a 20% APR?

Can It Get Better? Yes!
For many Hivers, HBD was just an afterthought. It was something we earned along with Hive Power when we received upvotes as both authors and curators. For many of those Hivers, HBD was something to be converted to HIVE to then be powered up as Hive Power. This is especially so for new Hivers and Hivers focused on building up their HP.
However, the increase in APR from 12% to 20% for savings-based HBD is causing many Hivers to consider HBD as a viable income-generating vehicle even if we stop our posting activities to focus exclusively on investing.
Contribute liquidity to diesel pools featuring SWAP.HBD.
Diesel Pools at Tribaldex (and BeeSwap)
The Hive ecosystem offers two access points to diesel pools (another term for liquidity pools):

3 of these 5 diesel pools offer LP Rewards. Of these 3, 2 offer SWAP.HBD as one of the reward tokens.
To participate in a diesel pool, make half of the contribution in the base token and the other half in the quote token. For example, if you want to contribute 200 HIVE into the SWAP.HBD:CENT diesel pool, contribute 100 HIVE-worth of SWAP.HBD and 100 HIVE-worth of CENT.
The greater the contributions to the diesel pool, the greater the LP rewards received regularly or daily.
What To Do with SWAP.HBD Rewards
Since SWAP.HBD is a Hive Engine Layer 2 token like SWAP.HIVE and SWAP.BNB, LP Rewards arrive at the Hive Engine wallet regularly (if not daily).
After enough SWAP.HBD has accumulated (or after the other LP Rewards have been sold for SWAP.HIVE used to buy SWAP.HBD), the SWAP.HBD can be withdrawn to the Layer 1 HIVE Wallet at our favorite blogging front-end.
It will take between 5 and 10 minutes for the SWAP.HBD from Hive Engine to appear in the Layer 1 wallet as HBD. Once it appears, it can be moved into HBD Savings where it can earn the 20% APR.
Just My Two Sats
A 12% APR for savings-based HBD was a big deal, so raising the APR from 12% to 20% was a major event. People who normally didn't do anything with HBD, or for whom HBD was an afterthought, now have reason to use HBD as an income-generating vehicle. It's been decades since a traditional savings account offered a double-digit APR, and we have it right here on Hive.
Besides earning HBD from upvotes we receive as both authors and curators, we can also earn SWAP.HBD by contributing liquidity to diesel pools via Tribaldex or BeeSwap. On a periodic basis, we can either widthdraw SWAP.HBD to our HIVE wallets for transfer into Savings, or we can sell the LP rewards to buy SWAP.HBD which we withdraw to the HIVE Wallet to then transfer into Savings.
By placing HBD into Savings, we can earn a 20% APR on that HBD. If we contribute liquidity to diesel pools-- especially those which offer SWAP.HBD as an LP Reward-- we can make periodic sales of the LP rewards in order to buy SWAP.HBD we can withdraw into our Layer 1 Hive wallets before we transfer the new HBD into Savings.
