Defi, HIVE marketing , Koinos, life // Update

This morning i had my first cup of coffee after a few months so i decided to write up something quick while im riding on the high. 🙂
I havent been very active this last month, holidays were happening, been working on the marketing proposal for HIVE, been busy with expanding my house with a new room and a basement, digging around in the mud outside.
This winter has been super wet, feels like im living in a rainforest.

Ive started dabling a bit with other blockchains and getting more interested in DEFI. Found that there was a lot to learn. Even though most projects are worthless, the distribution model of yield farming and LP rewards is the future imo.

High APYs attract eyes of the wider community, the liquidity provided to pairs greatly reduces dependence on centralized exchanges and allows new projects skip the uncertainty period where they have no market.

Imo Yield farming and LP rewards make mining as a distribution model completely obsolete.

Nowhere is that more obvious than with another project ive been following, Koinos, that launched with a CPU miner and after a few months was left with basically 1 miner that controls the distribution and everyone else quitting.
At the start of that project, unfortunately i wasnt as familiar with Defi, otherwise i wouldnt have wasted my time mining.
I still believe Koinos is a good project with a fair bit of potential even though the launch was a terrible failure.

Conspiracy minded individuals might even guess that its actually the team that is doing the majority of mining, selling at 1 cent to fund development and avoiding having to deal with the legality of ICOs, etc.
Nowhere did they say the team will keep any percentage of the supply.
But thats a guess ofc. 😉

On the HIVE side ive been working on the marketing proposal with an agency im in contact with. I went through a dozen agencies and this one seemed the best choice. Some of them would outright ignore you when they heard Hive was crypto related due to the advertising restrictions. (a hurdle we will have to deal with later on)
Some had employees that worked on too many projects for my liking so i felt they couldnt commit to HIVE as much as its needed. HIVE being a very complex ecosystem.
Im hoping by January 5th their proposal would be ready and ill slowly start sharing it with the community.
Hiring someone externally, outside of crypto, has its problems which im hoping to be able to deal with. HIVE being a DAO and decentralization pose another unique set of hurdles as well.
With no centralized authority it becomes very hard to achieve some things. "The people problem."
The most recent thing and a good example is a witness that seems (cant be absolutely sure so i wont name them) to be knowingly inactive, purposefully ignoring all attempts from multiple sides to get him to do a very simple, uninvasive action towards helping this effort due to their dislike of me.
Even if im completely wrong about that, the fact that its impossible to reach some people shows that
decentralization can be inefficient sometimes.

Thats about it for now. I dont want to promise anything and the marketing proposal will have to go through the community but i just wanted to do a short update that its being worked on.
If in any way this falls through, ill find someone else. I owe HIVE plenty and this is the least i can do.
Its just secretary work anyways, right? 😉
