That is a pleasant surprise indeed. It really is just gamification, but it's fun to have some milestones.
I'd personally like to be able to dispense $1.00 upvotes with 100% voting weight at 80% voting power. With this kind of power I could deliver a lot of curation surprises on the blockchain, and hopefully bring a lot of smiles.
