A Beautiful American Prospector Coin

It's a Beautiful Coin!

I've been collecting silver since I was a lad and over the years, I've gathered many different design rounds and coins. There is one that always seems to be mentioned, or shows up and that's "The American Prospector" coin from Engelhard. It's a very handsome design, with a gold prospector on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse.

The Natural Tone is Spectacular

If you've been reading my recent silver posts, you know I really like a natural petina and colorful natural tone. I remember visiting a coin shop and admiring the "tarnished" coins and the man behind the counter said "tone". I smiled and stood corrected. "Tarnish" is the black stuff you scrub off your silverware, "tone" is the beautiful colors that enhance a silver coin. Ever since, it's "tone". What a nice tone. Sort of like a "tune", a symphony of colors accentuating the design on the silver coin with greens and blues and browns.

A Wonderful Surprise

This coin is a treat, both to add to the collection and to admire as a fantastic Valentines day gift from @silversaver888 it was a total surprise when she offered to send me a prospector coin, remembering my not-so "secret santa" gift from many years ago.

I about flipped when the @silversaver888 offered me the opportunity to add a prospector coin to the stack.

A Yummy Coin!

After a long time in post (over 10 days) we began getting a little nervous whether the silver would make the trip! After a few "not yets" the envelop was found in my mailbox. I captured the look on my face when it arrived:

I was on cloud #9 discovering a very nice card and note, along with the 1984 prospector coin, shining in all of its splender. It was like opening a treasure chest!!!!

Thank you so much @silversaver888 for the wonderful gift!

It took me a little time before getting a post together on this, but I want to take this opportunity to again thank @silversaver888 for her incredible generosity and kindness, sharing in a mutual appreciation for silver stacking. This coin is perfect to me because of it's nice petina and "tone". And I finally have a prospector in my collection!!!!

I'm still pinching myself a few days later, that this HIVE community is so thoughtful and generous as exampled by this fellow silver stacker. Good deeds always result in more good deeds, that causes of cascade of kindness that spreads all over!

Thank you again for this American Prospector. Now more than just seeing and admiring this coin, own one and can see and admire it in real-life... and feel the weight in my hand! WOW!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations. Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
