This month keeps getting better and better for Solana NFT ecosystem, as after launching onto the most popular NFT marketplace OpenSea last week, Rarible protocol announced planned integration of Solana NFTs.
Rarible announced yesterday that as a part of their multichain approach, they have added support for NFTs minted on Solana and in coming days Solana NFTs will start appearing in Rarible market place.
Whereas OpenSea is the biggest and oldest NFT marketplace, Rarible is a protocol rather than just a market place. Rarible offers innovative customized experience to NFT creators to even develop their own platform. It currently supports four chains; Ethereum, Tezos, Flow and Polygon with Solana support coming.
Along with integration of Solana blockchain, Rarible also announced partnership with Degenerate Ape Academy (DAA)- a Solana based NFT collection to build a customized marketplace for the DAA community. The new DAA platform will render Rarible's marketplace tech supporting DAA NFTs plus other related NFT collection like Degenerate Trash Pandas & Degenerate Ape Kindergarten. Thanks to Rarible's tech DAA platform will be highly customized offering DAA community special incentive, e.g. a fixed percentage of all sales goes to Degen Ape DAO.
Whereas OpenSea integration of Solana was a big move as it brought Solana NFTs to a broader audience, but Rarible onboarding Solana is the real boomer as the protocol offer more flexibility and customizability to NFTs creators and project. Partnership with Degenerate Ape Academy (DAA) is just a start, as more Solana NFTs project will surely get onboard in future to benefit from Rarible's tech.
Rarible integrating Solana is not a surprise as Solana was among the list of planned integration for Rarible back in November last year. Support for Tezos and Plygon came earlier before Solana, which is strange considering Solana is the 2nd biggest NFT ecosystem.
But, better late than never!
