Self Management
Self management is the degree to which an individual can control their emotions and impulses particularly in a stressful situation and maintain a positive outlook despite setbacks. They decide when to reveal their emotions and when to restrain themselves. Entrepreneurs who lack self management skills tend to react on impulse and have harder time keeping their emotions in check because they have no control whatsoever. Emotionally intelligent people are usually self aware, they can regulate their emotions easily and keep it in check when necessary. They do not make impulsive or careless decisions because of the current stressful situation. They always think before they act. Reaction tends to be automatic with people with self management skills. The more in tune you are with your emotional intelligence, the easier you make respond to situations instead of reacting. To increase your self management skills, it is always important to remember to pause for a moment when you are stressful situation, breath, collect yourself and think of the best response to the current situation. Whether it involves taking a walk or calling a friend before responding, do it, so you can make a better decision which will ensure the longevity of your business. I know it can be hard to do but if you keep working on it, it will eventually become a habit.
