Are you new to Splinterlands and searching for some advice, then you found the correct series! In this Beginner’s Guide Series, we are discussing things that new players of Splinterlands should know or try to learn. In this specific episode we will talk the Riftwatchers Airdrops so far. Until now we saw the stats of two legendary airdrops. On top of that we have seen the artwork for two more special legendary cards that we will probably see in the near future. I want to discuss potential use cases for these cards and speculate about the specialty of the artwork ones. With that being said, if this article motivated you to start playing this amazing game, then feel free to join the fun over the following link:

Kain Hace – Death Airdrop

First car I want to talk about is Kane Hace. And what a card this is! In combination with Thaddius Brood which takes away one Health of your opponent’s monsters and with Kain’s Abilities this card is an absolute game breaker. Why? Because with the Explosion Ability, this card will be able to deal damage to more monsters than just one. On top of that he has the magic attacking style which means that he will go trough armor and attack the health of the other monster immediately. On the top level he even has 5 attack which means he deals an additional 3 damage to the monsters next to his target.

Yes he might not have the highest of health points, but he does not need it if you protect him correctly. On top of that he gets Protection from Other Abilities like Magic Reflect with his Ability Reflect Shield. And even if he dies, he is able to deal one damage to every other opponent on the field which could be also a game deciding effect. Yes he is costing 8 mana per battle, but I honestly think that this card is one of the strongest one that I have seen so far.

Ancient Redwood - Earth Airdrop

The next card I want to talk about is Ancient Redwood. The recently announced legendary card is in my opinion not as strong as Kain Hace but definitely worth a look at. Especially with the Riftwatchers Summoner that allows Ranged attacker to attack from the first position, this card is definitely a great way to win a battle. On the base level, this card comes with the True Strike Ability which allows this tree not to miss any target. On top of that it has 5 damage and 9 health which is very impressive to say the least.

On the other side, this card is costing us 11 mana and has only one speed but Due to its Ability it makes up for the lack of speed and with combination of the Closed Ranged Summoner, this card is definitely capable of being a great tank as well. On its highest level it can get up to 6 damage and 11 health. On top of that he is getting the Reflecting Shield as well as the Piercing ability which would allow this card to cut through armor as well. All in all a solid card, which I personally would not like to battle against.

Possibilus The Wise – Dragon Airdrop

Next up we have the first card that we do not know the Stats off but we definitely know that this card will be a Dragon Summoner from the Chaos Legion Pack. As we all know, this will be a summoner card as we are currently in the summoner airdrops for the Chaos Legion Packs. I would be surprised if the Dragon Summoner is actually the next one to drop, but it definitely looks like it. Anyways, by the caliber of cards that we already got, I have very high expectations for this card. It will definitely be not only one perk that we will be getting here.

My thought process is as following. Because this card has “the wise” in its name, I would assume that there will be a perk regarding magic. It would be definitely a broken card if this summoner would allow an additional Magic boost. I also do not expect them to give this card an overpowered Ability like the Explosion Ability. If this would be the case, this card will be the most expensive card on the market. I could see this card giving Abilities like Shield Reflect and maybe deducting some Magic attack from the opponent. I really would like to see a summoner giving a Double Strike Ability or even a Opportunity Ability. But again I think that these Abilities would destroy the balance of the game extremely.

Arkemis The Bear - End Of The Year

Last but not least we have an End of the year promo card. It looks like a Neutral card as I could not apply a bear like this to any Splinter here. On top of that it looks like a Melee fighter and I would highly bet on a top tank card as this is how this card is drawn. With a big golden belt of a beat and with an axe in his hand, this artwork is screaming tank to me. I really think this will be a double digit mana cost card that will either have great attacking values or great health values. In the latter case it would be cool to have a Taunt or Shield Ability but again, this might be too much to ask for. An additional Bloodlust Ability would be also pretty cool and definitely worth putting into a card like this. I am curious on the specific restrictions that we need to fulfill in order to be eligible to receive this card.
