This was the moment I was waiting on! Solar energy!

Well it was an early morning on this work free day. At least a paid work free day.
But before I get start drifting of back to the main thingy of the post.

When we did buy the house solar panels were already installed. They are now 13 or 14 years old so it can’t be compared with the new panels!
Because my wife works in the energy sector we are up to date with the rules and regulations. Unfortunately this is also the reason that we do have a digital electric counter. Until 2 months ago nothing was wrong with this. When we did produce electric and didn’t consume it we did give it back to the network. Just great because the counter did count backwards at those moments.

But the government decided that this was wrong because you would be using the network as a giant battery! So it was decided that the counters are allowed to count backwards. In stead you have to sell the energy to your energy supplier. Of course cheaper than you would have purchased it.

Strange back the analoge counters still can count backwards for 5 years. The idea was that they have to be replaced by digital ones. But people aren’t stupid and do refuse to open the door for the companies who do have to replace them! Yeah, I kid you not!

So it is important for us to consume as much energy as we produce it. Luckily our backyard south oriented. Great for solar panels but in the morning we do have to wait on the sun. So I was drinking coffee and waiting until we dod start producing to fire up the dishwasher!

Every penny counts!

Cheers,
Peter
