Les envío un cordial saludos a todo el equipo de la comunidad Holos&Lotus, en especial a @irvinc quien nos trae una nueva propuesta para el club de lectura para este mes, [Encuentros de Bienestar | Podcast # 21 Club de Lectura](https://hive.blog/hive-131951/@irvinc/encuentros-de-bienestar-or-podcast-21-club-de-lecturaor-wellness-encountersor-podcast-21-book-club), la obra se titula “Cháchara” de Ethan Kross.

En esta obra el autor se ha enfocado en la voz interior, resaltando entre sus aspectos más importantes, la introspección, cuando es contraproducente hablar con nosotros mismos y cuando no lo es, además de explicarnos que existen varias herramientas para obtener ventajas de nuestros propios pensamientos. Desde que comenzamos a tener uso de razón, siendo niños incluso, comenzamos a hablar con nosotros mismos, recuerdo escucharle decir a mi mamá que esa voz no es otra que nuestra propia consciencia. En esa etapa incipiente de nuestra vida, solemos decir nuestros pensamientos en voz alta, y justo esa acción la vemos como si se tratara de un juego, pero no es así, la espontaneidad de los niños hace que esa voz sea escuchada e incluso es más efectiva para la autocorrección y aprender el autocontrol.

La voces en nuestra cabeza existen desde que comenzamos a razonar, es normal hablar con nosotros mismos, por ejemplo, antes de dar una respuesta a alguna situación, reflexionamos muchas veces antes de tomar una decisión, cuando memorizamos una frase, un número de teléfono y en el peor de los casos, si estamos en medio de un problema y no sabemos qué hacer, nuestra voz interior nos conduce a conversaciones donde nos planteamos varias hipótesis y hasta viajamos al pasado para buscar soluciones a situaciones similares que hemos vivido. Justo en este punto entra en juego lo que el autor llama introspección, que no es más que la capacidad de prestar atención a lo que pensamos para resolver nuestros propios problemas. Escuchar nuestros propios pensamientos nos ayudará a encontrar soluciones, y por ende, mantendremos en equilibrio nuestras emociones, porque éstas serán positivas.

En la práctica esto es totalmente real, en mi experiencia de vida he podido notar que mis propios pensamientos me han conducido a tomar buenas decisiones, siempre y cuando no me encuentre en momentos de presión, angustia, tristeza o ira. El autor plasma esta idea en su obra, en momentos donde las emociones negativas predominan es contraproducente escuchar nuestros pensamientos para buscar soluciones y aplicar la lógica.

Hace años tuve una mala experiencia en mi sitio de trabajo, ese día que decidí retirarme estaba muy molesta y bajo esa tormenta me fui. Me puse a pensar muchas cosas que dejé de decirle a mi jefe de ese entonces mientras todavía me encontraba cerca del lugar donde trabajaba. De pronto, como un impulso, cuando me disponía a subir las escaleras, un compañero de trabajo me atajó y me dijo “no hagas eso, deja las puertas abiertas”. Gracias a eso lo dejé todo así, si él no me hubiera detenido habría dicho muchas cosas negativas. Por otra parte, en momentos de angustias o en estados de enojo la memoria funcional deja de desempeñarse correctamente, ésta no es más que la forma lógica en la que actuamos y resolvemos situaciones. La voz interior y la memoria funcional están conectadas, si la memoria funcional está mal, nuestros pensamientos también lo estarán, y créanme, estos serán contraproducentes.

Lo anterior significa que se afecta la lógica, he experimentado esto bajo emociones negativas, bajo ese efecto no puedo coordinar ninguna tarea, cuando lo he hecho, el resultado es un completo disparate porque sencillamente no puedo concentrarme. De acuerdo a mi propia experiencia, cuando estoy en estados de emociones negativas evito hacer cualquier tarea porque es preferible esperar que todo vuelva a la calma, del resto, es imposible seguir. Ya luego, con esta explicación se puede definir con contundencia que es la Cháchara, se trata de un compendio de sentimientos y pensamientos en círculos que distorsionan la introspección, es decir, la convierten en una adversidad en lugar de fortuna y no podremos sacarle provecho como se explicó al principio.

Entre otros puntos importantes que trata el autor puedo destacar:

- La voz interior es normal hasta cierto punto, siempre está en nosotros y no debe confundirse con enfermedades mentales como la esquizofrenia.

- Muchas veces necesitamos reducir esa voz interior o hacer la interrupción de la misma con eficacia para mejorar nuestra introspección.

- Muchas veces la ayuda que necesitamos va mucho más allá de nuestra voz interior. Esta muy bien cuando buscamos una voz amiga, pero si nos volvemos repetitivos solo conseguiremos el rechazo social. Esto significa que si la Cháchara nos gana hay que buscar ayuda profesional.

# Herramientas

En la obra el autor nos habla de las herramientas que podemos usar para hacer de nuestro monologo interior algo constructivo. En mi experiencia personal puedo decir que me identifico con algunas de ellas y las he aplicado, y sí, han sido efectivas.

Herramientas que podemos usar por nuestra propia cuenta, Imagínese que está ayudando a un amigo.Es una manera muy eficaz, ponerse en el lugar de las gradas y ver los toros desde la barrera, es más fácil. Imaginar que “ese problema” le sucede a otra persona, nos ayudará a ver las soluciones y a ponernos en la posición de “que le diríamos a la otra persona para ayudarlo”. Mientras estamos dentro de corral con los toros, no podemos ver con claridad lo que nos sucede.

Herramientas que podemos usar por nuestra propia cuenta, Amplíe su perspectiva. Aquí se trata de comparar situaciones y pensar que haría esa persona amiga que por lo general es más ecuánime que nosotros, como actuaría ante un problema como este. Lo solía aplicar gracias a una amiga que cuenta con mucha inteligencia emocional y la aplica en su vida.

Herramientas que requieren la participación de otras personas, No use las redes sociales de manera pasiva. Esto se refiere al hecho de mirar las publicaciones de otras personas, si me he sentido deprimida, muchas veces ver algunas fotos en lugar de sentirme mejor me causaba más tristeza. En lugar de ser un usuario pasivo, la mejor decisión era justo lo contrario, estar activo conversando en vivo con algunas amistades, esto me distraía mucho y me alejaba del problema.

Herramientas relacionadas con el entorno en el que vivimos, Cree orden en su entorno. Distraer nuestra mente se traduce en alejar nuestras emociones y pensamientos negativos. “Como tienes el cuarto, tienes la mente”, es una frase que se usa en metafísica y una de formas de ordenarnos es hacerlo en el plano físico y mental. Cuando me concentro en ordenar mi cuarto, me mente se relaja y olvida esos pensamientos obsesivos y negativos sobre alguna situación que me aqueja. Si hago la actividad escuchando música, mejor todavía.

Herramientas relacionadas con el entorno en el que vivimos, Frecuente los espacios verdes. Una caminata en el parque, contemplar esos paisajes o pasar tiempo en mi jardín es muy reconfortante. Es otra manera de minimizar esa cháchara interior que nos perjudica y nos impide conectarnos con nuestra memoria funcional y sacar provecho de nuestra voz interior.

In this work the author has focused on the inner voice, highlighting among its most important aspects, introspection, when it is counterproductive to talk to ourselves and when it is not, besides explaining that there are several tools to take advantage of our own thoughts. Since we began to have the use of reason, even as children, we began to talk to ourselves, I remember hearing my mother say that this voice is none other than our own conscience. In that incipient stage of our life, we usually say our thoughts out loud, and just that action we see it as if it were a game, but it is not so, the spontaneity of children makes that voice is heard and is even more effective for self-correction and learning self-control.

It is normal to talk to ourselves, for example, before giving an answer to a situation, we reflect many times before making a decision, when we memorize a phrase, a phone number and in the worst case, if we are in the middle of a problem and do not know what to do, our inner voice leads us to conversations where we raise several hypotheses and even travel to the past to find solutions to similar situations we have experienced. Just at this point comes into play what the author calls introspection, which is nothing more than the ability to pay attention to what we think in order to solve our own problems. Listening to our own thoughts will help us to find solutions, and therefore, we will keep our emotions in balance, because they will be positive.

In practice this is totally real, in my life experience I have noticed that my own thoughts have led me to make good decisions, as long as I am not in moments of pressure, anguish, sadness or anger. The author expresses this idea in his work, in moments where negative emotions predominate it is counterproductive to listen to our thoughts in order to look for solutions and apply logic.

Years ago I had a bad experience at my workplace, that day I decided to retire I was very upset and under that storm I left. I started to think about many things that I left unsaid to my boss at that time while I was still near the place where I worked. Suddenly, as an impulse, when I was about to go up the stairs, a co-worker stopped me and told me "don't do that, leave the doors open". Thanks to that I left everything like that, if he had not stopped me I would have said many negative things. On the other hand, in moments of anguish or in states of anger, the functional memory stops working correctly, this is nothing more than the logical way in which we act and solve situations. The inner voice and the working memory are connected, if the working memory is wrong, our thoughts will be wrong too, and believe me, they will be counterproductive.

The above means that logic is affected, I have experienced this under negative emotions, under that effect I cannot coordinate any task, when I have done it, the result is a complete nonsense because I simply cannot concentrate. According to my own experience, when I am in states of negative emotions I avoid doing any task because it is preferable to wait for everything to calm down, otherwise, it is impossible to continue. Then, with this explanation we can define with forcefulness what is the Chachara, it is a compendium of feelings and thoughts in circles that distort the introspection, that is to say, they turn it into an adversity instead of fortune and we will not be able to take advantage of it as it was explained at the beginning.

Among other important points covered by the author I can highlight the following:

- The inner voice is normal to a certain extent, it is always in us and should not be confused with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia.

- Many times we need to reduce that inner voice or do the interruption of it effectively in order to improve our introspection.

- Many times the help we need goes far beyond our inner voice. It is fine when we seek a friendly voice, but if we become repetitive we will only get social rejection. This means that if the Chatter wins us over, we must seek professional help.

# Tools

In the book the author talks about the tools we can use to make our inner monologue something constructive. In my personal experience I can say that I identify with some of them and I have applied them, and yes, they have been effective.

Tools that we can use on our own, Imagine that you are helping a friend.it is a very effective way, put yourself in the place of the stands and see the bulls from the barrier, it is easier. Imagining "that problem" happening to someone else will help us see the solutions and put us in the position of "what would we say to the other person to help them". While we are inside the pen with the bulls, we cannot see clearly what is happening to us.

Tools we can use on our own, Broaden your perspective. This is about comparing situations and thinking about what that friend, who is usually more even-tempered than we are, would do when faced with a problem like this. I used to apply it thanks to a friend who has a lot of emotional intelligence and applies it in her life.

Tools that require the participation of other people, Do not use social networks in a passive way. This refers to the fact of looking at other people's publications, if I felt depressed, many times seeing some pictures instead of feeling better caused me more sadness. Instead of being a passive user, the best decision was just the opposite, to be active chatting live with some friends, this distracted me a lot and took me away from the problem.

Tools related to the environment in which we live, Create order in your environment. Distracting our mind translates into keeping away our emotions and negative thoughts. "As you have the room, you have the mind", is a phrase used in metaphysics and one of the ways to order ourselves is to do it in the physical and mental plane. When I concentrate on tidying my room, my mind relaxes and forgets those obsessive and negative thoughts about some situation that ails me. If I do the activity listening to music, even better.

Tools related to the environment in which we live, frequent green spaces. A walk in the park, contemplating those landscapes or spending time in my garden is very comforting. It is another way to minimize that inner chatter that harms us and prevents us from connecting with our working memory and tapping into our inner voice.
