Major Chest - Drop Item Probability and Costs

Hello Everyone,

I'm thrilled to dive into the details of our new reward chest payouts, which have been the topic of much anticipation within our community. Today, I'll be breaking down what's inside the "Major" chest and how it compares to the less costly "Minor" chest, giving you a clearer picture of where your Glint might be best spent.

First of the big old table

Interestingly when you compare to minor chest, the only better value is for legendary and jackpot drops

As you can see we need to look across multiplying probabilities, first the likely hood of each item dropping, and then within each item type, how the sub types drop as well. On top of that we also have a multiplier, which in this case for cards is vaired which makes it tricker.

Distribution of Reward Card Types:

Common Cards

Drop Percentage: 76%
Average Multiplier: 4
Drop Rate: 100.32%
Cost per Card: 996.81 Glint
Rare Cards

Drop Percentage: 20%
Average Multiplier: 3
Drop Rate: 19.8%
Cost per Card: 5,050.51 Glint
Epic Cards

Drop Percentage: 3%
Average Multiplier: 1.5
Drop Rate: 1.485%
Cost per Card: 67,340.07 Glint
Legendary Cards

Drop Percentage: 1%
Average Multiplier: 1
Drop Rate: 0.33%
Cost per Card: 303,030.30 Glint

Now what if you just wanted to purchase them? Well you would be 6.5 to 9 time better off just buying them direct from chest

However, if you use the chest, you also get other nice items that might be of use, like potions, energy, and merits. These things have value. So, we looked at how often you would need to roll a major chest to get a legendary, which is 303 times, and then we examined how much other stuff you get and what it would cost to buy them direct.

What you find is it is cheaper to roll a major chest, by about 18%, than to directly buy all these goods. Plus, we do have a jackpot lurking in there.
