Hive Life:My Entire Story on hive

I am David wisdom, A graduate of health information management and a Nigerian. I joined hive in August 2020, within the period of the lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic. A friend had introduced me to hive and it was my first time to have heard about it, before then, I knew of bitcoin and ethereum, and other Altcoins but never heard of Hive or HBD. I gladly accepted to join because it was free to sign up, else I wouldn't have compelled, having suffered from scam sites that take the money and disappeared after some months.

After creating an account, I received a delegation from a user called @shemzy. I did not make my introductory post immediately, I read through the community FAQ and add some friends, then joined communities before I made my first post. My first post payout wasn't encouraging, no one voted it, maybe because it gained little awareness or I did not write to the taste of the community but peakd noticed it after 4 days and voted it. I wasn't discouraged, though I felt bad that my first post wasn't noticed. I engaged the community through involving in contests and writing fiction and it seems to work out as I started to get noticed through the vote I received.

Within a short space, my reputation increased rapidly with votes from OCD, curie, and curangel and special votes through contests. I must say, it was through engaging in a contest that I gained more awareness than writing freely on my blog and one of the contests is that of the LMAC community (let's make a collage contest). With time, I made more friends who supported me with guides and upvotes and in December last year, I joined an initiative by startstring01 for newbies, though I wasn't a newbie I was accepted because my HP was less than 500 at that time. the initiative boosted both my reputation and hive power and it also introduced me to new friends who were part of the "Newbies initiative" for that month. In January, we were relieved from the initiative having cross reputation 60 and Hive power of 500, and believing we have known the basics about the platform.

After the initiative, I started evangelizing hive to many of my friends, few joined and others think hive to be stressful and that it required people with high IQ to survived on the platform, that's because they learned that it involves writing and should at least be 300 words and above. Few of my friends who joined are actively involved, some gave up when they were not encouraged with their post payout and others post seldomly.

That same January, I made ecency my favorite Dapp, because of the ESTM rewards on activities and how it can be used to boost a user's post, and also its ease of use. My fear of not receiving upvotes was lessened because I could boost my post at any time and can also encourage my friends by boosting their posts. I started learning more about hive, and got some messages that related to how hive started.

My style of writing started to improve when I downloaded a Grammarly app recommended by mariannewest and engaged in fiction writing from the inkwell community. The more I started to know about hive was the more I started to engage with hive and the more followers I gained each day. Up till now, I'm still learning about cryptocurrency and hive and am actively involved with evangelizing hive on Twitter and to everyone I come across. There's more to hive, gradually it's unfolding as days count.

A need arose two months ago that required me to power down and answer that need. My initial plan was never to power down my hive power until I have attained above 4500 HP, but it seems life always answers us differently, I hope to meet that goal someday, maybe very soon as long as God grants me Life and Grace to keep blogging and remain active. Currently, I'm learning about hive engine tokens, I know in a short while, I will gain enough knowledge I need.

About my personal life and hive
After I joined hive, I stopped relying on my parents to pay my bills. It will surprise you to know, I used the earnings I got from hive to sponsor my final year in school and also to pay for my license examination. My mum who was the source of finance for my education got broke at some point last year, she was worried about how to pay for my license examination and also provide food for home. I was able to pay my license fee worth #40000 and also provided money that was used to buy some food at home. Ever since then, I had kept contributing at home financially and have relieved my mother of the worries she had.

I have also settled my personal needs and am currently contributing to sponsoring my elder brother in school, all with the money I raise from the hive. This evidence is what had made my friends believe hive is genuine and most joined. Presently, I'm the one catering to my needs, and I intend to grow both on the blockchain and invest in a venture with the capital I raised from here.
