Those who follow my posts know that I really like the weekly challenges and I keep switching between card reviews and complete compositions! I think it's very productive, and serves the purpose of getting the game into the trending topics.
I want to tell you how I got to my current position, my past investments, my adaptation to changes in the future. So come with me, because today the post is from * Finance *!
GAME HISTORY
CrazyPhantomBR starts the Splinterlands game in November 2021. At that time the game dynamic was completely different, with its daily missions and everything. Having joined just before the release of the Chaos Legion set, you should note that I have no Alpha or Beta cards and below.
The launch of Wild and Modern modes served to definitively fit me into Modern mode, where I decided to invest in the game by acquiring several cards for my collection aiming at growth in the leagues.
The investment decision went through a cost-benefit analysis of each card, where the benefit would be its power value, which would build my Collection Power. The quest to maximize power points was aimed at the best ranking.
The communication from the development team, which predicted the replacement of Collection Power as a determinant for the allocation of players in leagues by the amount of stake of SPS in the third quartile of 2023, served as a turning point in towards my game goal. This way, I needed to adapt to have SPS in stake. This I started doing a few days ago.
MY INVESTMENTS
Aiming at the best cost benefit to leverage my growth in the game, I sought to accumulate power through initially random cards, since my own card collection was very restricted. In a second moment, I started to invest exclusively in summoners, taking into account that:
- Its use is mandatory (I didn't need to say that)
- The level of the summoner determines the maximum level of the team
- The cost of renting level 5 summoners was absurd. Remember this Thaddius Brood level 5 whose lease was canceled for me to update the price: 199 DEC per day!
So I performed a series of summoner card acquisitions, reaching $120 worth of summoners in January 2023. This collection of summoners has 2200 CP.
My complete card collection comes in at 50K CP, enough to play in Gold League 3.
Its market value is approximately US$260, certainly ranging downwards.
If I have CP, and it will no longer serve its purpose, my options are:
Option 1: Swap CP for SPS
Let's say that I actually have about $200 in the game, I can convert part of this amount into SPS, I just need to be able to sell some cards at a reasonable price. This option is the first one because literally Collection Power will be of no use from this point forward. So we don't have to worry about her anymore.
If you are thinking about selling, we have to consider:
- Sell the cards that have the highest market value (highest U$/CP ratio)
- Sell the cards we don't use (useless CP)
But let's face it, after so much time playing, selling doesn't seem to be the solution!
Option 2: Acquire SPS
Knowing that this change would come, and already anticipating the unpredictable effects of the asset market, I anticipated the acquisition of a few amounts of SPS in order to reassure myself until the official information was released.
This way I acquired just over 3,800 SPS, investing just over U$80 in the game. So I kept my previous investment, represented by my Collection Power, and now I also have an investment in governance, represented by the SPS token.
The average value of my trades was 0.05848 Hive per SPS.
Hive is currently traded for US$0.366.
Option 3: Live off passive income
It still remains as an option for some to put their card collection completely on lease to third parties, receiving DEC token as passive income. In this case the player stops being active in the game. I know some who have positioned it this way, mBut only time will tell who made the best choice.
MY VISION OF THE FUTURE
I will certainly not be able to play in the Gold leagues as I have been doing, as my investment was insufficient for the initial tables we are seeing around. In this way, I am resigned to returning to the Silver league, which is my rightful place.
I consider evaluating a possible SPS rental to try a future realignment, but I consider that I already have a lot invested in the game, I need to focus on achieving other results.
MY RECOMMENDATION
If you've read this far, you must have thought that I recommend Option 2 - Acquire SPS, but you're wrong. I, aware of my ignorance of the future and without any intention of teaching anyone to live their life, recommend doing a little of each option.
Isn't that always how they do it in the financial market?
"Don't invest everything in a single modality, you have to diversify your portfolio..."
So do a little of each and be happy.

Quero te contar como foi que cheguei na minha posição atual, meus investimentos passados, a minha adaptação para as mudanças no futuro. Então vem comigo, porque hoje o post é de Finanças!
HISTÓRICO DE JOGO
CrazyPhantomBR inicia o game Splinterlands em novembro de 2021. Naquela época a dinâmica de jogo era completamente diferente, com suas missões diárias e tudo mais. Por ter entrado logo antes do lançamento da coleção Chaos Legion, você deve notar que eu não tenho cards Alpha ou Beta e anteriores.
O lançamento dos modos Wild e Modern serviu para me enquadrar de forma definitiva no modo Modern, onde decidi investir no jogo adquirindo vários cards para minha coleção visando o crescimento nas ligas.
A decisão pelos investimentos passava por uma análise própria do custo-benefício de cada card, onde o benefício seria o seu valor de poder, o que construiria minha Collection Power. A busca por maximizar os pontos de poder visava o melhor ranking.
O comunicado da equipe de desenvolvimento, que previu a substiituição da Collection Power como determinante para alocação dos jogadores nas ligas pela quantidade de stake de SPS no terceiro quartil de 2023 serviu como uma guinada na direção da minha meta de jogo. Desta forma, eu precisei me adaptar para ter SPS em stake. Isso eu comecei fazer a poucos dias.
MEUS INVESTIMENTOS
Visando o melhor custo benefício para alavancar meu crescimento no jogo, eu busquei acumular poder através de cards inicialmente aleatórios, uma vez que minha coleção de cards próprios era muito restrita. Em um segundo momento, eu passei a investir exclusivamente em invocadores, levando em consideração que:
- Seu uso é obrigatório (eu não precisava ter dito isto)
- O nível do invocador determina o nível máximo da equipe
- O custo de aluguel de invocadores nível 5 era absurdo. Relembre deste Thaddius Brood level 5 cujo aluguel me foi cancelado para atualização de preço: 199 DEC por dia!
Então realizei uma série de aquisições de cards invocadores, chegando a possuir U$120 em invocadores em janeiro de 2023. Esta coleção de invocadores possui 2200 CP.
Minha coleção completa de cards chega em 50K CP, o suficiente para jogar na Liga Gold 3.
Seu valor de mercado é de U$260 aproximadamente, certamente variando para baixo.
Se eu tenho CP, e não servirá mais para seu propósito, minhas opções são:
Opção 1: Trocar CP por SPS
Digamos que eu tenha efetivamente cerca de U$200 no jogo, eu posso converter parte deste valor em SPS, basta conseguir vender alguns cards a preço razoável. Essa opção é a primeira porque literalmente Collection Power não terá qualquer utilidade deste ponto em diante. Então não precisamos mais nos preocupar com ela.
Se for pensar em venda, temos que considerar:
- Vender os cards que possuem maior valor de mercado (maior relação U$/CP)
- Vender os cards que não utilizamos (CP inútil)
Mas convenhamos, depois de tanto tempo jogando, vender não parece ser a solução!
Opção 2: Adquirir SPS
Sabendo que esta mudança viria, e já antecipando os efeitos imprevisíveis do mercado de ativos, antecipei a aquisição de algumas poucas quantidades de SPS de forma a me tranquilizar até que as informações oficiais fossem divulgadas.
Desta forma adquiri poco mais de 3,800 SPS, investindo pouco mais de U$80 no jogo. Mantive assim meu investimento anterior, representado pela minha Collection Power, e agora também tenho investimento em governança, representado pelo token SPS.
O valor médio das minhas negociações foi de 0,05848 Hive por SPS.
A Hive hoje é negociada por 0,366 dollares americanos.
Opção 3: Viver de renda passiva
Ainda resta como opção para alguns colocar sua coleção de cards totalmente em locação para terceiros, recebendo token DEC como renda passiva. Neste caso o jogador para de ser ativo no jogo. Conheço alguns que tem posicionado desta forma, mas só o tempo dirá quem fez a melhor escolha.
MINHA VISÃO DO FUTURO
Certamente não poderei jogar nas ligas Gold como tenho feito, pois meu investimento foi insuficiente pelas tabelas iniciais que estamos vendo por ai. Desta forma estou conformado em voltar para a liga Prata, que é o meu lugar de direito.
Considero avaliar um possível aluguel de SPS para tentar um realinhamento futuro, porém considero que já tenho muito investido no jogo, preciso focar em atingir outros resultados.
MINHA RECOMENDAÇÃO
Se você leu até aqui, deve ter imaginado que eu indico a Opção 2 - Adquirir SPS, porém está enganado. Eu, ciente da minha ignorância do futuro e sem qualquer pretensão de ensinar ninguém a viver a sua vida, recomendo que seja feito um pouco de cada opção.
