I am making this post for the benefit of newbies on this platform who are interested in joining the best game on the Hive blockchain.
Here and there, I get questions involving how to earn on Splinterlands. Most are excited and interested in playing the game but they become sober when they hear about the money involved in buying cards to play and earn, it put them off so I want to address this on my blog to give them hope that playing is not the only way to earn in the game.

My area of concentration is the Splintershards [Sps]
Sps is the native [governance] token of Splinterlands and It is also what players earn for fighting and winning battles, the number of sps won per battle is determined by the sps staked.
As a newbie that wants to be involved with the game, investing in sps is a good thing to do and I will list my reasons below.
It may not be easy for a newbie on the hive platform to buy cards[monsters] worth 10 dollars per 1 but it will be easy to purchase 2 hive worth of sps daily or once in two days which gives around 30 sps.
The goal is to build your sps stake and the advantage of building your sps stakes will be listed below.
Sps staking reward: Stakers of sps are currently earning 16% Apr on their stakes which are given in sps and voucher[ another sl token which is mostly used during Splinterlands promo sale]
Renting out sps stakes: Recently splinterlands added a new update which is being able to delegate out staked sps and it is as a result of staked sps determining the amount of sps players can earn per battle.
you can rent out your staked sps instead of leaving it idle, you will still earn stake rewards even if your staked sps are rented out.
Earn Glx airdrop: Those who staked sps are also enjoying the glx airdrop which is going to last for a year.
Sps is currently low in price at the moment so buying and staking will be profitable in the long run when it pumps, you won't just be holding it like some tokens without a use case, it will increase in number when staked and add more value to your portfolio.
I have seen some whales pretty invested in sps without actually playing the game, you can buy some and join many others in being part of the winning game on the hive blockchain.
