¡Hola hola, mis queridos cocineros! El día de hoy hice para mi familia por primera vez una sopa de costillas de res o como decimos en Venezuela un "*sancocho*." Me emocioné tanto que quise compartir la receta con ustedes. Nunca había hecho una sopa más allá de unos pocos ingredientes y ya, así que hacer algo tan tradicional como un *sancocho* o levanta muertos como dicen aquí porque usualmente se prepara luego de una fiesta o de una amanecida jaja, me da mucho gusto. Así que sin más preámbulos, veamos como se prepara. > Hello hello, my dear cooks! Today I made for my family for the first time a beef short rib soup or as we say in Venezuela a "*sancocho*." **Ingredientes para 3 o 4 personas** - 1/2 kg de costilla de res - 1 kg de yuca - Medio ocumo - Papas medianas - Ají al gusto - 1 Pimentón rojo - 1 Cebolla grande - Perejil - Cilantro - Ajo porro (solo lo blanco) - Celery (solo el tallo) - 2 Mazorcas de maíz - Media auyama - Sal al gusto

**Ingredients for 3 or 4 persons**. - 1/2 kg beef ribs - 1 kg of yucca - Half an octopus - Medium potatoes - Chili to taste - 1 red bell pepper - 1 large onion - Parsley - Cilantro - Garlic (only the white part) - Celery (stalk only) - 2 ears of corn - Half a pumpkin - Salt to taste

Me recomendaron que al momento de picar el ocumo usara guantes o algo que cubra tus manos puesto que luego te tienden a picar. Y es muy buen consejo, mis manos dejaron de ser mis manos por un momento jaja. > We started by chopping everything into small squares. I was advised to wear gloves or something to cover your hands when chopping the ocumo, because then they tend to itch. Aquí les quiero comentar otro consejo que me dieron y es que cuando picas la yuca y la concha se va super fácil es que está muy buena, es decir que te quedara super blandita y aquí lo comprobé. Otra manera de saberlo, muy útil al momento de comprarla es ver que cuando te la cortan se vea algo húmeda por dentro, como con leche alrededor. Afortunadamente aún no he comprado una yuca mala y dura gracias a estos consejos, espero les sirvan. > Then we proceed to clean everything that has to do with the yucca and the ocumo (with its respective bag). Luego de que haya estado un tiempo podemos agregar la mazorca, la yuca y el ocumo para que se vayan suavizando. > Now we will begin to cook the ribs until the meat softens and comes off the bone. Yo coloqué 30 minutos por la carne y los ingredientes que tardan en hacerse pero cuando ya vean que todo está lo suficientemente blando pueden apagar el fuego. > Let everything cook well and finish cooking.
