Generally Normal Foils are cheaper than Gold Foils. So People will buy Normal Foils if they have the same Perks. But Gold Foils have some benefits so we only need to think it worth or not.
What are the benefits of Gold Foils?
- You will get 10% bonus DEC in a quest.
- You can participate in Gold Foil only tournaments
- You can participate in Gold Foil only Brawls
- Gold Foils have much CP than a Normal Foil
- Everyone likes Gold
How will you decide you should buy a Gold Foil card or not?
- Do you frequently use this card?
- How many times Gold Foil price is higher than Normal Foil?
- What is the multiplier limit you can accept to buy a Gold Foil?

In this case GF Royal Dragon Archer has the best price. (I am only comparing Gold Foil and Normal Foil prices so Normal Foil price of some cards can be higher compared to other cards.)
And https://peakmonsters.com compare only BCX prices but we normally buy cards not using this way. For Gold Foil cards we need less cards to combine for higher level card.
For Normal Foil Royal Dragon Archer we need at least 4 cards to reach level 3.
But for the Gold Foil card we only need to buy one card.
If we calculate using price per BCX, the price of Gold Foil Royal Dragon Archer is 4.8 times higher than Normal Foil Royal Dragon Archer. But if we calculate using price according to the level we can get, the price of Gold Foil Royal Dragon Archer is only 1.8 times higher than Normal Foil Royal Dragon Archer. We will get a Gold Foil Dragon Archer if we spend 0.8 times more money.
IF you compare to the Collection power you will get 30000 CP from Gold Foil version and 1800(3x600) CP from Normal Foil version. This is a huge different.
If we spend 1$ we will get 8.584 CP by buying Gold Foil Royal Dragon Archer, but Normal Foil Royal Dragon Archer will only give you 0.8$ for every 1$ you spend. (But I think Normal Foil Royal Dragon Archer is quite expensive.)
Let's take another example. This time I will choose a monster card from Rare monster cards.
I will choose Khmer Princess. This is two mana card and get Tank Heal ability at level 4 and Triage ability at level 8. The difference between Gold Foil card and Normal Foil card is 11.86 times.
I want to compare at level 4 below this is meaningless to compare I think. We will cost 250$ for a level 4 card for Normal Foil. If we buy a level 8 cards it will be cheaper per BCX. We need 25 cards to combine for a level 4 card.
For a level 4 Gold Foil Khmer Princess we will need more than 400$. We only need to buy 4 cards to reach level 4.
The price of Level 4 Gold Foil Khmer Princess is only 1.628 times higher than the level 4 Normal Foil Khmer Princess. This is amazing result.
So instead of considering price based on BCX, considering based on level is much more realistic and practical.
