Diving Into My New Silver Investments ..

If you remember, a couple of days ago I posted about finally receiving an order of new silver rounds. Well I hadn’t had a chance to really dig through them, but this morning I decided to pull one out and post about it. So that’s just what I did. I randomly reached in a box and pulled one out.

I had some money from a few things that I had sold recently .. on various sites, and decide to reinvest that money and silver. I wanted to buy silver rounds, but I also wanted to have a little fun with it. Instead of buying all of one thing, I bought a slew of different rounds. I basically went on to JM bouillons website and sorted available Silver, then went down the list of 1oz rounds picking and choosing until I fulfilled my budget. Maybe a touch over (wink wink)

Here’s the USPS box it came in, flat rate shipping. Free obviously after (I think) $199 spent.

Again, I randomly reached in and pulled out one of the 1 oz silver rounds randomly stacked inside the box.

This one should do just fine! .999 silver fine LOL

The Reverse ..

OOOOh OOOOh nice.. It’s a 2021 1oz Britannia .999 Fine Silver Round! These British Britannia coins come from the Royal Mint of England. She comes with a lot of history, As she stands along the coast with her spear protecting or guarding the British Empire. I believe that I read somewhere on JM site that this was the 25th release of coins in the 1 ounce British Britannia series.

There are also four security elements on this coin, Making it hard to counterfeit.

The Obverse..

Queen Elizabeth II, her Majesty‘s profile, wearing George IV state diadem crown. I was reading, again on JM's site that this crown was commissioned by King George during the first year of his rein end it contained 1333 diamonds with a total weight of more than 300 karats! That’s crazy. Heavy heavy heavy. Source

The Edge ..

Not much to talk about here, except the reeding along the edge is darn near perfect. It’s actually catching the fibers on these cotton gloves that I’m wearing. It’s a nice clean design and actually reflects a bit of light. I’d much rather see the reeding on the edge rather than the smooth edge coins.

Additional Photos ..

I am going to include a couple more photos below. These are close-ups of the coin, so that you can get a better look at all of those wonderful details. Obviously these rounds aren’t the most perfect coins, so you’re going to get some water spots, some nicks and dents, the occasional scratch.

You may also be able to pick up on those four new technology security features found on these coins. They are latent images, laser animation, micro text and tincture lines.

All of the coins I purchased except for one, came in these foldable plastic sleeves. They’re not that bad, but they do you tend to be a little bit brittle and I don’t like the way they necessarily look. I don’t have any more of the round protective cases, so it looks like I’ll have to buy a few the next time I’m at the coin store.

IMG_2242.JPG

Not sure if you noticed,.. I did also purchase some replacement white cotton gloves to handle my silver. The last set of gloves I had was worn out and it was time for a new set. I purchased large but you wouldn’t believe how small a large now is. Either that or my hands are getting fat. LOL they’re a bit tight but they’ll do. For $4.00 I don’t think I’m going to complain that much.

I suppose that’s it for now ..

I’ve got a bunch more to share and will do so over the next several weeks, so tune in! Happy stacking of you silver fanatics, gold fanatics, or general metal fanatics out there!

“This was something she would keep hidden within herself, maybe in place of the knot of pain and anger she had been carrying under her breastbone...a security blanket, an ace up her sleeve. She might never use it, but she would always feel its presence like a swelling secret stone, and that way when she let go of the rage, she would not feel nearly as empty.”
