Good morning to everyone , I hope you all are doing fine .
Have been a bit busy recently but now I am back and ready to resume my statistical posts .
Today we shall look at the authors and curators data in a bit detail and if you guys like it , I will do it for LEO and other tribes too .
The reason this post is mentioned as Part 1 is because I will eventually add more and more data to this in coming weeks to make it as comprehensive as possible .
Note: All the data below is for the period of June 1 to July 10.
Let's start -
Number of posts and comments using #proofofbrain tag
Now , there isn't a consistent pattern here . Somedays it is less and somedays it is more but good news is that in July the number of posts and comments have been higher comparatively .
Average number of posts and comments is 1734 which means that everyday users are using pob tag on 1734 posts and comments .
Number of posts vs number of comments on POB
It is no surprise that number of comments is greater than posts but what you have to observe is that , the number of comments is almost twice than that of posts which also means that per post the average comment count is just 2 . Is it good ? Nope not at all , that means engagement is concentrated in a few posts which needs to change .
From which front-end are the comments/posts being made to POB ?
This is actually a good stat , it tells us that majority of the comments/posts are being made from POB front-end itself .
The other big front-ends are -
- Peakd
- Ecency
- Hive.blog
- LeoFinance
Also I will be sharing these with you guys ( Find the link at the end of the post ) so that you can go into it in detail .
Number of unique users using POB tag .
This is not a good stat for POB , why ? Because the number of unique users has remained constant ( more or less ) .
Now that means in 40 days , we aren't able to bring new people in ( + retain our existing users)
Front-end Proportion
So 43% of all posts and comments on POB is from POB front-end and the remaining is from other front-ends .
I think 43% is good enough to be honest since there are many , many front-ends out there which have better UI than POB .
Curation stats
Number of unique curators daily
Now this is what we wanna see . Starting of June , we had around 1k unique curators and now we have around 1250 , this means a 25% increase which is amazing .
Note: This only considers those curators who got atleast 0.00000001 POB as curation reward in the 40 days period , if someone who has 0 POB staked and 0 POB delegation IN then he doesn't add any value to the post so he won't be considered as a curator .
Top curators based on number of unique authors upvoted
@alphacore leads the chart here , he has upvoted over 1k unique authors .
But you have to note something here , lets say I have 1 POB staked and I upvote all the unique authors on POB , am I adding value ? Not really because I am not distributing POB ( considerable POB ) to large number of people because my stake is very very less .
But does that mean this stat doesn't matter ? Not true too , this is good to see to be honest . We need to focus on those who have huge stake and also upvoting lot of different users ( not through autovotes ideally )
Popular authors based on number of unique curators
What does this mean actually ?
This means that @taskmaster4450le has been upvoted by 770 unique POB curators during the 40 days period .
Now note that none of these 770 curators might have more than 100 POB staked right ? But he is being supported by these 770 unique curators .
@edicted comes next in the list , followed by @wiseagent . I am fortunate enough to find myself in 9th position here , thank you all .
Popular authors based on curators rewards earned by upvoting them
Highest earning curators based on curation reward earned during the 40 days period
Well , no surprise here I guess .
Also note that whatever is earned by @amr008.pob goes to other delegators . So it has earned 8k during the period which has been distributed to 63 different delegators ( I believe this is good because it spreads the POB around ) .
Curation rewards daily ( all users )
No surprise here too ( atleast for me since I know the tokenomics of POB ) . Around 3k POB is earned by curators everyday .
Correlating number of unique authors upvoted and high staked POB account
What does this mean ?
We shall see who have upvoted huge number of unique authors and how much curation rewards they have earned .
If the curation reward earned is huge it means that they have staked a lot of POB .
As I discussed before - @alphacore has upvoted 1k+ unique authors but he has earned less than 0 POB as curation rewards ( his curation reward is around 0.1 POB for this period ) .
Now the same is true for @fatman who is second on the list .
@botvotes does a good job here as he has considerable amount of stake and has upvoted a lot of unique users .
Next comes @onealfa.pob who has huge curation reward earnings( 14k+ POB ) + has upvoted 909 users . This also means that @onealfa.pob has distributed 14k POB to 909 users .
You can go further down the list and see who have huge stake but are upvoting less number of users , this will tell you that their votes are being concentrated to few individuals which is bad for the platform .
As far as @amr008.pob is concerned , it has huge staked and has upvoted around 250 unique users ( this means there were 250 users who were in top 50 engagement list in the 40 days period which is a good amount ) .

I have shown in the GIF how the filtering based on curator works , check it out and play with it yourself :)
I will definitely add more data to this eventually and post this weekly . I also want to do this for LEO which I will do tomorrow or day after . Till then , take care and have a great day .
