I like movies with good dialogue and a plot that immerses you into an interesting subject, especially if it uses elements that make the viewer identify. I have been interested in this movie for a long time, however, I forgot to watch it for some reason. Here I was able to find an intense drama, perfectly balanced by humor and a lengthy but rewarding script. We know that divorces are not easy, but in this film I come to present, everything has been handled in a rather smooth but powerful way. It's amazing to think that this film is a Netflix production, something I didn't have much faith in but apparently it worked very well.

Me gustan las películas con buenos diálogos y una trama que te sumerge a un tema interesante, sobre todo si utiliza elementos que hacen que el espectador se identifique. He tenido interés por esta película desde hace mucho tiempo, sin embargo, olvidaba verla por alguna razón. Aquí pude encontrar un drama intenso, perfectamente equilibrado por el humor y un guion extenso pero gratificante. Sabemos que los divorcios no son fáciles, pero en este filme que vengo a presentar, todo se ha llevado de una manera bastante suave pero poderosa. Es increíble pensar que esta película es una producción de Netflix, algo que no le tenía mucha fe pero al parecer funcionó muy bien.

Synopsis

Charlie is a dedicated theater director and renowned in his work, and his wife Nicole is an exceptional actress who works on all the projects her husband directs. They seem like a couple with more pros than cons but pent-up feelings begin to weigh heavily and disintegrate the relationship. Soon, this couple will have to face the calamities of divorce while trying to preserve their friendship for the sake of their young son Henry.

Personal opinion

The fact that Scarlett Johansson appears in the film is enough for the film to catch my attention, since I think she is an excellent actress and I am beginning to recognize the excellent acting quality of Adam Driver. I have no complaints whatsoever with the acting, as it carries a perfect acting sequence with extensive, concordant and well executed dialogue.

Despite being a family drama with a rather strong theme, the film softens it with a humor that seems serious but has made me laugh several times, as the eloquent and cordial circumstances between the characters and the good chemistry between the two main protagonists, make us connect both sentimentally and intimately with the story.

The direction seems to be well done and the cinematography is excellent, we don't miss any minute of important dialogue or details that help us connect the plot lines. I had expectations that this couple would get back together, but the story just wants to show us that there are people who can't be together as a married couple, but still love each other and only want each other's well being.

I like how the whole story was executed, especially in the argument scenes, everything pointed to the film being a theatrical drama, where the actors expressed their feelings in a formidable way and there were even moments where I was shocked. In spite of the extensive dialogues, I was able to compile each scene because the story is not very dense and it is easy to digest. The product knew how to sink me into the plot and know the reasons why this couple made this decision with no turning back. Everything seems to be well explained but what I liked the most was the atmosphere of humor that was added.

Opinión personal

El hecho de ver que aparece Scarlett Johansson en la película, es suficiente para que el filme llame mi atención, ya que como actriz me parece excelente y estoy comenzando a reconocer la excelente calidad actoral de Adam Driver. No tengo queja alguna con la actuación, pues lleva una secuencia interpretativa perfecta con diálogos extensos, concordantes y bien ejecutados.

A pesar de ser un drama familiar con un tema bastante fuerte, la película lo suaviza con un humor que parece serio pero que a mí me ha sacado varias carcajadas, pues las circunstancias elocuentes y cordiales entre los personajes y la buena química que hay entre los dos protagonistas principales, hacen que nos conectemos tanto sentimental como íntimamente con la historia.

La dirección parece estar bien hecha y la fotografía es excelente, no perdemos ningún minuto de dialogo importante o detalles que nos ayuden a conectar las líneas de la trama. Me creaba expectativas de saber si esta pareja volvería a estar unida, pero la historia solo quiere enseñarnos que hay personas que no pueden estar juntos como matrimonio, pero aun así se quieren y solo desean el bien del otro.

Me gusta como fue ejecutada toda la historia, especialmente en las escenas de discusión, todo apuntaba a que el filme era un drama teatral, donde los actores expresaban sus sentimientos de manera formidable y había hasta instantes en que me quedaba impactado. A pesar de los extensos diálogos, lograba compaginar cada escena pues la historia no es muy densa y es fácil de digerir. El producto supo como hundirme en la trama y saber las razones de porque esta pareja tomó esta decisión sin vuelta atrás. Todo parece estar bien explicado pero lo que más me gustó fue la atmosfera de humor que se le añadió.

Marriage Story, is a film that makes you reflect on the details that can cause failures in a marriage; things like selfishness, nonconformity and disinterest in supporting your partner are warning signs that if not addressed in time can disintegrate any relationship. It also teaches us that there are couples that, even if they are no longer together, there will always be that feeling of affection and desire for the good of the other. In this film we can see that characteristic in many details in the scene, something that I find very beautiful; the feelings of cordiality manifested by simple gestures that cannot be easily dissipated. Marriage Story, es una película que te hace reflexionar los detalles que pueden ocasionar fallas en un matrimonio; cosas como el egoísmo, la inconformidad y el desinterés por apoyar a tu pareja son focos de alerta que si no se atienden a tiempo pueden desintegrar cualquier relación. También nos enseña que hay parejas que, aunque ya no estén juntas, siempre existirá ese sentimiento de cariño de deseo del bien por el otro. En este filme podemos ver esa característica en muchos detalles en escena, algo que me parece muy bonito; los sentimientos de cordialidad manifestados por simples gestos que fácilmente no se pueden disipar.
