For people with disabilities, feeling insecure, often feeling suspicious, and even feeling a lot of insecurities is normal. While humans with perfect body functions can move and do activities freely, many people with disabilities even don't have easy access to reach the places they want.
Director Kim Jong-Kwan on December 10, 2020 (KST) released Josee as a visual form from the point of view of a person with a disability. Adapted from a Japanese short story entitled Josee, The Tiger and The Fish by Seiko Tanabe.
After successfully getting high ratings in the drama Start-Up which ended on December 09, actor Nam Joo-Hyuk made his comeback in the same month in a melodrama movie called Josee. Acting as a final year student, Nam Joo-Hyuk who plays the character Lee Young-Seok starts his love life with a girl with a disability named Josee (Han Ji-Min).
The film Josee tells the story of a person with a disability with a gloomy life. An orphan who ran away from an orphanage and decided to live in a slum house with a grandmother who picked him up and raised him like his own grand daughter. Josee grows up with piles of used things that Da-Bok (Heo-Jin) collects from the street or the trash. The only consolation in the house for Josee were used books, and old bottles of wine that she could taste in the last drops that remained.
An accidental meeting with Yeong-Seok changes many things about Josee's life. The house that was repaired by Yeong-Seok's proposal to the social service, Yeong-Seok's presence who introduced Josee to smartphones, the way the two of them explore the world using only the google map application, and Josee's cold and skeptical nature which slowly fades away.
Yeong-Seok's patience and affection for Josee, for no reason, actually made Josee feel like she had locked Yeong-Seok into her circle.
Watching this film is like being confronted with reality from the point of view of persons with disabilities about acceptance and sometimes contradictory logic.
Cho Young-Jik as the cinematography is very good at managing a gloomy storyline. If you're watching this movie and feel like your phone screen is having problems because it's dark, that's definitely not where the problem is! Young-Jik deliberately wants to bring the audience to Josee's gloomy and cold life.
The focus of this film continues to move in the circle of Josee's life.
Josee's character, played by the beautiful actress Han Ji-Min, will not disappoint you with her acting skills. You can get a cold and stubborn beautiful girl with the look in Ji-Min's eyes.
