OPINION

Biographical films of people don't really attract my attention, I've seen some that haven't touched me at all, being one more of the bunch, just because I was tired of work when the first movie that appeared to me was Elvis when I opened HBO Max, I decide to see it, even seeing its long duration, it was there, where I fell in love with one of the films that I consider one of my favorites so far.

The story of the film is interesting at first, after a certain point, maybe the first hour, it becomes an everyday thing in the lives of artists who earn a lot of money and don't know how to manage it. This is not bad, it starts off on the right foot so that we have empathy for the protagonist, it shows us that it was not all simple or flat, it makes it have a feeling of disorder in the life of the protagonist where we hope at some point he will improve, here, even the The protagonist's best moment is his worst moment at the same time.

It could be something that many talk about, that Elvis lived in a black neighborhood and his friends were of color, which could have been a stir at the time, a white being a friend of blacks, but what struck me the most was the fact that he was considered inappropriate for his characteristic way of dancing, being a classic example of a rebel in rock n roll. I came to read through an article that the director of the film makes it interesting, since the life of the artist was very common, it could be true to a certain extent, as far as I am concerned, Elvis was an artist with a problem that he solved with his art, until he no longer had problems and stopped doing it.

His photography and scenery are wonderful, there were moments where I fell in love with a scene, where I returned the film to see everything again, I still look for the scene where Elvis sings "Trouble" and I see it several times, a scene that you can get on YouTube at HBO channel. I didn't know about Baz Luhrmann until now, I could have seen some of his films but I'm not sure, I fell in love with his work in such a way that it makes me want to make art, at his level and not like him, he is a director who inspired me.

Movies that have original songs or are musicals are my favorites, as long as it's something serious like tik, tik boom, inside Bo Burnham or in this case, Elvis, The union of cinema and music seems to me a combination that few know achieve, thousands of musicals can be made, thousands of stories of artists with original songs from the movie, but few are those that transmit something true, where their songs mix naturally with the story to make something innovative or impressive, Elvis, is a biographical film that even Elvis's ex-wife, along with her daughter and granddaughter, give their approval, being not only a humble recommendation from a movie fanatic, but a film that will remain recorded in history, as a good adaptation to a true story.
